Whew. This morning was a sunrise at Garden of the Gods, followed by a power nap, then, The Odyssey (have you seen it yet? Tell me which part made you cry because damn, Mr. Nolan) followed up by another power nap (I got up at 4am, friends), and now I’m here sharing this opening before I head off to other evening playing with my camera in the wild.

All that to say, Fall Minis are OFFICIALLY open. Three dates. Three locations. Some are already grabbed up (thank you friends!) here we go:

I’m in a season of life that feels heavy and weird and hard. It also feels happy and thankful and full of joy. We’ve got two birds, one stone, here.

I was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder about a year ago along with ADHD (again, hello 10 year old me 👋) and “near” Autism. Yes. I can look people in the eye. Oh, that means I don’t “have” it. Second opinion pleassse.

Here I am, struggling through some tasks for the day and I see this photo of Luella and myself that I took during their family session in the mountains. Mama is dumping sand and rocks out of her shoes and she’s wanting to hold my hand. She reaches up for me and I reach down to her and we are CONNECTED. Soul sisters formed in a split second.

I know I’m my loudest criticizer when it comes to my work and how good it is or isn’t (and THAT my friends, is what keeps me from actually sharing my work on most days) but today, sitting at my computer, opening my heart, I can see myself in a different light.

The light Luella saw in me when SHE decided that the lady she’s only met a few times in her life is a safe space. Her tiny 2.5 year old nervous system was doing the real work. Noticing the pureness of my being, the love that I hold, the gentleness, the kindness. A single gesture that truly brought down my house of cards.

My mind is mean (as I’m sure you can relate) and until I can figure out how to be my own biggest cheerleader again, I’m going to trust the outreached hand of a 2 year old. Every. Time.

Fall is open. 🍂

My calendar for all sessions is officially open for the rest of the year, and I'm now booking 2027 for weddings + elopements.

For minis, just three dates this year. Three different places. One of them is a mountain spot I've never offered before, and I've been holding onto it for a while.

In a pine forest, they poured out their hearts in evening light.

These two chose Black Forest for a reason. Before the rings, before the reception, before anyone else arrived, they slipped into the tall pines and said what needed to be said. Just the two of them and the quiet that only trees can hold.

Then they came back and celebrated surrounded by the people who love them most.

That's the kind of wedding day I'll carry with me for a long time. Congratulations to these two beautiful brides.
