The mountains gave us one of those October evenings that feels almost impossible to describe.

Golden aspens tucked into the mountainsides. Cold air settling in as the light began to disappear. The winding road up Cottonwood Pass, and these two in the middle of all of it, choosing each other.

At one point, I picked up an aspen leaf and held it in front of my lens, not entirely knowing what it would become, only knowing I wanted some of that autumn gold to find its way into the photograph.

And then it did.

A little glimpse of their elopement day outside Buena Vista, Colorado. There is so much more still to come.

A little look back at Brandon and Maggie’s engagement session in downtown Colorado Springs, before I join them today to photograph their wedding.

Looking back through these photographs this morning, I keep coming back to the small things. A hand resting over another. The way they lean toward each other. A kiss with a book still tucked between them.

Today, there will be new moments to hold alongside these.

Fall is basically just a speed bump on the highway to winter and I'm over here like, ' Wait, didn't we just have summer?! I'm over the moon that mini sessions are SOLD OUT, thanks to your amazing support! Can't wait to connect with all you incredible humans soon!

Whew. This morning was a sunrise at Garden of the Gods, followed by a power nap, then, The Odyssey (have you seen it yet? Tell me which part made you cry because damn, Mr. Nolan) followed up by another power nap (I got up at 4am, friends), and now I’m here sharing this opening before I head off to other evening playing with my camera in the wild.

All that to say, Fall Minis are OFFICIALLY open. Three dates. Three locations. Some are already grabbed up (thank you friends!) here we go:

I’m in a season of life that feels heavy and weird and hard. It also feels happy and thankful and full of joy. We’ve got two birds, one stone, here.

I was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder about a year ago along with ADHD (again, hello 10 year old me 👋) and “near” Autism. Yes. I can look people in the eye. Oh, that means I don’t “have” it. Second opinion pleassse.

Here I am, struggling through some tasks for the day and I see this photo of Luella and myself that I took during their family session in the mountains. Mama is dumping sand and rocks out of her shoes and she’s wanting to hold my hand. She reaches up for me and I reach down to her and we are CONNECTED. Soul sisters formed in a split second.

I know I’m my loudest criticizer when it comes to my work and how good it is or isn’t (and THAT my friends, is what keeps me from actually sharing my work on most days) but today, sitting at my computer, opening my heart, I can see myself in a different light.

The light Luella saw in me when SHE decided that the lady she’s only met a few times in her life is a safe space. Her tiny 2.5 year old nervous system was doing the real work. Noticing the pureness of my being, the love that I hold, the gentleness, the kindness. A single gesture that truly brought down my house of cards.

My mind is mean (as I’m sure you can relate) and until I can figure out how to be my own biggest cheerleader again, I’m going to trust the outreached hand of a 2 year old. Every. Time.

My calendar for all sessions is officially open for the rest of the year, and I'm now booking 2027 for weddings + elopements.

For minis, just three dates this year. Three different places. One of them is a mountain spot I've never offered before, and I've been holding onto it for a while.
