Most of what goes into a wedding day, you never see. The clean lenses and charged batteries. The printed timelines and family lists. The hour I spend scouting light before anyone arrives. The quiet morning I protect on purpose so I show up calm and present for you.

The Maroon Bells in Aspen does not disappoint. This weekend I get to head back into the Colorado mountains to photograph a sweet couple surrounded by golden aspens, and I honestly cannot wait for the sea of color. 🍁 There is something about fall here that makes everything feel a little more cinematic, cozy, and romantic.

A + D’s Still Meadow Farm wedding was a full-circle kind of day. I photographed A’s sister’s wedding eleven years ago (during a hurricane), so getting to document this family again felt like the best reunion. During A’s dad’s speech, he even joked about the family’s luck with wedding day weather. But this day? Perfect in every way, right down to the sun finally peeking out for their sunset portraits.

A + D exude pure joy, and their energy was infectious alllllll day long. They even surprised everyone with a choreographed first dance, and let me tell you, these two know how to dip. Still Meadow Farm, the newer venue from Shadow Creek , thought through every detail to make the day seamless and beautiful. What a joy from start to finish. 🤍

There was something so full-circle about W+L’s wedding. W grew up on this land at Graves Mountain Lodge in Virginia; his family owns it, so saying “I do” here in the heart of the Shenandoah Mountains meant everything.

Theirs is a friend’s first love story. W had to work to win L over, and once she finally said yes to that first date, they never looked back. And it is easy to see why he fought so hard. L is a classic American beauty who carries herself with such quiet confidence (all while finishing law school and studying for the bar... so impressive).

It was an honor documenting and celebrating these two over the weekend. CONGRATS, L+W!
