One of the biggest questions I get before every family session is:

"What should we wear?"

Choosing outfits can feel overwhelming, especially when you're coordinating multiple family members and want everyone to look great together without being overly matchy.

That's why I put together a new blog featuring summer family photo outfit inspiration specifically for Colorado Springs, including color palettes that complement our beautiful local backdrops—from Garden of the Gods and mountain views to open fields and summer wildflowers.

As many of my senior clients know, I provide a very detailed style guide because for many seniors, it's their first professional photoshoot on their own and they often need a little extra guidance from head to toe. We talk about everything from outfits and accessories to how clothing photographs on camera.

Some love stories are written over time—in the little moments, the memories, and the seasons of life shared together.

These two began their journey as teenagers, and now, nearly a decade later, they're saying "I do" with their sweet daughter by their side. 🤍

From young love to building a family, their story is a beautiful reminder that the best relationships grow stronger with time. What a joy it was to capture this special season as they begin their next chapter together.

There’s something incredibly meaningful about including grandparents in your family photos whenever possible. These moments become even more special when the whole family is genuinely enjoying time together — yes, even with four teenagers. 😊

I recently had the honor of photographing Licette and her beautiful family. She’s a chemistry teacher at Discovery Canyon Campus High School and from everything I hear, she’s one of those teachers her students never forget.

One of my favorite parts about this session was getting to see this family again after photographing her son Brady's senior photos last year. I honestly couldn’t believe how much he’s grown — it feels like he shot up almost a foot since his senior session! Watching families grow and being invited back to capture these milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Sessions like this are such a reminder that family photos are about more than smiling at the camera — they’re about preserving connection, laughter, and this season of life before it changes again.

Words of encouragement❤️
My daughter graduated a few years ago and moved clear across the country. I was one of those moms who ugly cried for probably a year before and after she left. She has always been my sweetest treasure, coffee date and shopping partner, and most compassionate and calming soul you’ll ever meet. I am so grateful for the times she can come home, or when we get to explore her new surroundings and meet her new friends.

One of the best blessings to come out of this season is that a group of us moms, whose kids graduated at the same time, decided, or vowed 😊, to meet regularly and not lose touch. For the last few years, we have gathered at one another’s homes or at a coffee shop and shared the ups and downs of our lives and our children’s lives. We have laughed- a lot, cried, and most importantly, prayed for each other and our loved ones.

Moms, I encourage you to find your people and meet with them regularly. Everyone is busy and, of course, sometimes some friends can’t make it, but don’t give up because you will find they need you as much as you need them. I hope you find that treasure in your life, and you are always welcome to reach out to me if you need prayer. Things will get better with time. This is just a season.
