👔 Senior guys...what should you wear for senior pictures?

One of the biggest questions I hear from parents is, "What should my son wear?" The truth is, you don't need a closet full of clothes—just a few solid outfit choices.

I just shared my Top 3 outfit ideas for senior guys below. If your Class of 2027 senior is planning portraits this year, these tips will make choosing outfits much easier.

👕 A Polo or Fitted Henley – Clean, classic, and comfortable. It gives a polished look without feeling too dressy.
👔 A Button-Down Shirt – Whether it's linen, chambray, or a crisp cotton shirt with sleeves rolled up, it creates a timeless, elevated style.
👖 Dark Jeans or Khakis with a Simple Layer – Pair with a quarter-zip, lightweight jacket, or flannel for texture and variety while keeping the focus on the senior.

That combination consistently photographs well, gives plenty of variety, and avoids trends that can make portraits look dated in just a few years.

From sea to summit. 🌊⛰️

A swimmer. A mountain biker. A creative soul. And somehow, the canyon just felt like her place.

Nora chose a mountain session because, it seems, the canyon was calling to her—and I think it was the perfect backdrop for her Class of 2027 senior portraits. From the water to the trails, she’s definitely a girl who belongs in both the land and the sea.

She was a little shy in front of the camera at first, but before long, we were having fun, exploring the canyon, and capturing the personality behind that quiet smile. ❤️

And I loved the little personal touches she brought along—including her childhood teddy bear, Biggy, and a polka-dot top she made herself. Those are the details that make senior portraits hers rather than just another photo session.

Nora, you were so much fun to photograph, and I’m so glad the canyon called your name. 💕

If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't overthink it! These are three outfit choices that photograph beautifully every time:

👗 1. A Long Dress
A flowy maxi or midi dress adds movement, looks elegant, and creates stunning images—especially during golden hour.

🌸 2. A Short Dress
A shorter dress gives your gallery a fun, youthful look and is perfect for showing off your personality. It's great for sitting poses and walking shots, too.

👖 3. Denim + A Classic Top
You can never go wrong with a great pair of jeans paired with a simple top, sweater, or blouse. This timeless combination keeps the focus on you and won't look dated years from now.

Sneak peeks from this gorgeous wedding this weekend.❤️
Some places just hold a little more magic. ❤️

This wedding was especially meaningful to photograph because this beautiful property is more than just a venue. Many of you know it as the home of the fall festival I photograph with Stacy Adams, where families gather to help raise money for Mary’s Home. But for Stacy, it’s also home to Cam, her beloved horse, and a place filled with years of memories and heart.

So it felt incredibly fitting that her son’s wedding would take place here. ✨

And the evening itself was pure enchantment — lanterns glowing, fairy lights twinkling, rich jewel tones, and so many beautiful little details that made it feel like a fairytale tucked right into the place they call home.

There’s something beautiful about a wedding that isn’t just beautiful to look at, but deeply meaningful to the people who celebrate there. ✨❤️

Some families become so much more than clients, they become friends, and the Bentons are one of those families.

They drove a long way for their family session, and I couldn't be more grateful that they chose to make the trip. It has been such a joy watching their family through the years, from photographing Anderson's senior portraits and graduation to celebrating more milestones together.

Every session with them is filled with laughter, and if you've ever met Cory, you know why! He's the one who keeps everyone in stitches, making every smile you see completely genuine. Those are the moments I love capturing most: the real laughter, the inside jokes, and the love that makes every family unique.

Thank you, Benton family, for trusting me year after year to preserve these memories. It truly means the world to me. ❤️

I just finished a week of teaching at VBS, so I am still catching up on posting , but I wanted to share a few from my session with Kaysen this weekend. We got hit with rain, but we still captured a few lovely photos, and you will be seeing more of her in the future.
