Justin and his mom met me at his favorite place in Springs for his senior photos on Wednesday evening. Justin is an avid rock climber and plans to become a firefighter as well as become certified as an EMT and high angle rescuer. I know his mom is incredibly proud of him and his dad would be too!

Had to share just one more from Holly's session just to show what a trooper she was! You can see raindrops coming down in the background and still LOOK at that grin on her face! Now you see how she made my job so easy (even in the pouring rain!).

Well, it was dark. It rained. But Holly still managed to be one of my easiest, most enjoyable sessions ever! This girl is a very busy senior! She's on the basketball team, cheerleading squad, AND the Homecoming Court! I'm so happy she and her mom found time to come down to Colorado Springs today for her senior pictures.

These two cuties are both former newborn clients of mine. They're also best friends but sadly, today was the last day they will see each other for awhile because one of them is moving out of state. Their parents wanted a quick photo session of the boys before they go. I think the dreary weather this morning was a reflection of Colin and Micah's general feeling about the move. :-(

I took this photo of my sister and her wife back in August 2011--a few months before they (separately) adopted their first child, Jayden. They had fostered him since he was two days old. In the four years since then, they have fostered and subsequently adopted two other beautiful babies through the Boulder County foster care system. They've been through all the normal trials and challenges that parents go through but with one very important difference--their family wasn't equal to a "normal" family in the eyes of our country's laws. Until today. Thank you SCOTUS.
