To be honest, a huge part of me still cant believe these are my images!

For YEARS, these exact photographs have existed only in my head - the movement, the feeling of weightlessness.

I knew what I wanted them to look like, but I honestly wasn't sure if I could ever pull them off.

Then one day I looked at the back of my camera and there they were.

Exactly as I had imagined them. (Maybe even better!?)

As photographers and artists, we all carry ideas that live inside us for years before they ever become reality. There is something incredibly special about finally creating the thing you've been dreaming about for so long.

I am completely obsessed with this new medium and so excited to bring underwater to Colorado!

This is a real woman.
A real spring in Florida.
A real camera.
And a photographer who may have finally secured a pool here in Colorado Springs. 👀

For years, images like this lived only in my imagination.

The light.
The movement.
The way water transforms the human body into something ethereal and otherworldly.

It almost doesn't look real.

But it issssss! And that's exactly why I'm obsessed.

We're getting closer every day to launching underwater portraiture here in Colorado. Fine art. Fantasy. Magic. Movement. All created in-camera with real people and real water.

No AI.
No composites.
No tricks.

Just art.

Sometimes I get so buried in the day-to-day grind of running a business that I forget to stop and actually LOOK at what I’ve built.

But I'm getting some big changes done - a huge new facelift to the website - all the things!

And.. seeing it laid out like this… even I’m impressed. 🤯

Over the last 24 years, photography has taken me from:
📍 The White House with CBS News
📍 NATO assignments
📍 Africa Command (with Congress using my images)
📍 Luxury resorts
📍 Massive corporate events
📍 Global brands
📍 Creative bo***ir and family moments that matter just as much

And somehow this little girl with a camera from Baltimore ended up photographing for companies and organizations like these.
Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it!!

Also… somewhere in there I apparently photographed for Long John Silver’s and THAT may be the most random flex of all time. 🤣⚡️

What fascinates me most about underwater portraiture is the way water transforms movement into something painterly, almost dreamlike. Fabric breathes differently. Hair becomes smoke. Light bends and wraps around the body in ways that feel closer to renaissance paintings than photography.

This piece was inspired by vintage glamour, old cabaret elegance, and the emotional feeling of floating somewhere between strength and softness.

Creating this new body of underwater work has reignited something deep in me creatively, and I truly believe some of the most meaningful art of my career is beginning to emerge from beneath the surface.

I think the reason I love this underwater work so much is because it says one word to me:
Freedom.
Freedom from expectations.
Freedom from shame.
Freedom from being looked at constantly as women.
Freedom from criticism.
Freedom from perfection.
Freedom from the noise.

Underwater everything goes quiet.

You stop posing so hard.
You stop holding your stomach in.
You stop performing.

And suddenly there’s just movement.
Softness.
Power.
Femininity.
Breath.
Art.

After everything I’ve walked through the last few years, this work feels less like “bo***ir” and more like reclamation.

Like becoming untethered from all the things we were taught we had to be.

And honestly? I think that’s why these images hit me so hard emotionally.

Because they feel free.
