Hi friends! I’ve been pretty absent from this app for while so I thought I’d take a minute to reintroduce myself!

I’m Kasey. But my friends call me Kase. I’m married to the UPS guy - we’ve been married for 5 years and we’ve made two beautiful babies together - a boy and a girl and they are our whole world. We live in Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak and we LOVE where we live. The mountains are our home and where we both feel most alive and at peace. We love exploring our state and all the epic places it has to offer.

I’m a proud crunchy mama and love learning all the ways for us to live as holistically and naturally as possible. For real - SUPER crunchy, our views are very much not mainstream at all. Sorry not sorry. But we’ll still roll through Taco Bell from time to time so we’re not perfect crunchy parents. Ha!

I’m a passionate follower of Jesus. He has saved my life from the pit, set me free from shame/bondage/addiction/fear and given me freedom to live in joy and with deep purpose.

I’m a total birth ju**ie and can talk about birth for HOURS. I truly believe it’s the most incredible, beautiful, badass thing in the world and I want to see all mamas empowered to have a beautiful and blissful birth. I’ve had two natural unmedicated home births and I cannot wait to do it again. It’s honestly addicting. Good thing we’re planning on having a big family!

Ice cream is my kryptonite, tacos and margs are my jam, I’m a campfire lover, I’m way too competitive for my own good, I walk leisurely down every isle of Target far more than I should, and I am so glad you’re here.

And I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY love having a camera in my hand and capturing magic with my couples and mamas.

Grab a cup of coffee and stick around, there’s always always always a place for you at our table. ❤️ drop me a comment and introduce yourself! I want to know who is here!

I am ALLLLLLLL about a good adventure maternity session!!! You don’t have to have the “typical” posed maternity photos…want to climb a mountain, frolic in sand dunes, get naked and go for a swim with your man, stand on the edge of a cliff? I’M YOUR GIRL. Let’s go on an adventure and capture this beautiful season of your life together. I am still obsessed with this super fun sand dunes adventure session with Beth and Adam. It was so cold, so windy and we were being pounded with sand the whole time…but it was SO worth it for this magic we made together!

Crawling into bed for a nap after waking up 12 hours ago at 4am for an amazing birth is such a good feeling! Baby Stevie was born this morning after a super fast labor for this first time mama, and she was a total badass rockstar and owned her birth so well! Stevie is their rainbow baby and named after her daddy’s stepdad who almost lost his life last year to Covid. Today was actually the 1 year anniversary that he left the ICU, and today his grand baby with his namesake was born and it was SO beautiful and such an emotional thing for their family. I’m so incredibly honored to have been given the honor of being in Beth and Adam’s birth space and telling their story. Congratulations to this beautiful new little family! Your girl is PERFECT. ❤️

Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Last Sunday I got together with 8 STUNNING mamas and their little ones to capture their beautiful breastfeeding relationships with their babies. It was raining and a little bit chilly, but we decided to meet up anyway and move forward. We met up in the forest in the mountains with umbrellas and lots of blankets, and hoped for the best! The rain cleared and the sun came out when they all started nursing, and it was the most perfect unexpected time together. I was so honored to capture these gorgeous mamas as they nourished their babies with their bodies. These women are so lovely and such good mamas, and I was nearly in tears the whole time it was so beautiful. Thank you to these beautiful mamas for allowing me to capture your intimate moments with your babies. Breastfeeding is such a powerful force and bond between a mom and her child, with immeasurable health benefits for the babies. I’m so thankful I’ve been able to nurse my girl for 15 months going strong and no intent of stopping anytime soon! It’s not easy, it takes a lot of sacrifice and devotion, but it’s so very worth it.

Hi! There’s quite a few new faces around here so I thought I’d introduce myself!

I’m Kasey! I’m a Colorado Springs based birth and elopement photographer, and I’m also working on getting certified as a birth, bereavement and postpartum doula and will then be working towards my certification in lactation.

I have been passionate about birth and new mamas for YEARS, and just had my first baby a year ago in the comfort and safety of my own home and since then have been even more excited about helping mamas through their labors and documenting the most beautiful, powerful birth stories.

When I’m not taking pictures I am a stay at home mama to my one year old daughter, Eden. I love being a mom more than anything, and we’re planning on 4 or 5 little ones! I also understand the struggle and heartbreak of infertility, as we tried for 2 years to have our little girl. My husband is a hero in brown as a UPS driver, which allows me to stay home with our girl and I’m SO thankful. He works so hard to provide for us and he is the best daddy and husband.

I’m always down for queso, tacos and margaritas. And I have a really hard time saying no to ice cream. Really hard time.

I’m a Colorado girl to the core and love my mountains and everything that comes with them - hiking, camping, travel, and all the adventuring! We love being outside and exploring new places, and showing our girl this beautiful world!

I am a leggings and t-shirt girl most days, cause stay at home mom life and I’d rather be comfortable than fancy.

And most of all I believe that your birth should be the most beautiful, empowered, incredible day of your entire life. You were made to birth your baby and you are so powerful and capable. I would LOVE to be a part of your birth team!

Did you know that hot water can be a FANTASTIC natural pain relief during labor? If you are wanting to have a natural birth and avoid drugs, hot water is your new best friend! I took 3 hot showers during my day and a half of labor, and spent all of transition in a birth pool and it felt SO good.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, “Buoyancy promotes more efficient uterine contractions and improved blood circulation resulting in better oxygenation of the uterine muscles, less pain for the mother, and more oxygen for the baby.
Immersion in water often helps lower high blood pressure caused by anxiety. The water seems to reduce stress-related hormones, allowing the mother’s body to produce endorphins which serve as pain-inhibitors. Water causes the perineum to become more elastic and relaxed, reducing the incidence and severity of tearing and the need for an episiotomy and stitches. As the laboring woman relaxes physically, she is able to relax mentally with a greater ability to focus on the birth process. Since the water provides a greater sense of privacy, it can reduce inhibitions, anxiety, and fears.” How awesome is that!

If you are in a hospital, ask for a hot bath or shower! Most of them should accommodate. If you’re at home or in a birth center, you should be able to freely shower or take a bath if that is what feels best for your laboring body! If you take a shower, make sure your partner hops in there with you to support you incase your legs are weak during contractions and to help with counter pressure on your hips! You got this mama!

Did you use hot water during your labor for pain relief or are your pregnant and planning on it? Let’s talk in the comments! @ Colorado Springs, Colorado

This beautiful family welcomed me into their home to capture their perfect new little addition about 12 hours after she was born peacefully and safely at home, in a beautiful free birth at home. I got there while a couple of midwives were there doing a newborn assessment, and got to capture some of the sweetest first moments with baby, her older siblings and amazing parents. It made my heart so happy, as home birth is my favorite thing in the world and is in my opinion, how birth is supposed to be. There’s nothing like the atmosphere, safety, comfort and calmness that surrounds babies born at home. And when older siblings are there to witness how beautiful, natural and amazing birth is, it makes me so giddy! I am so excited for my girl to see all her siblings born at home, and that she will never be conditioned to be afraid of birth. I am so thankful and honored that Harmony asked me to capture these first moments!

Happy Mother’s Day to all my beautiful, fierce warrior mamas! You are incredible women and I’m forever thankful to my mamas who allow me into their most sacred spaces. The day your baby is born, a mother is born as well and that is such a beautiful moment that defines the rest of your life. Here’s to you, mama! You rocked your births and I know you’re rocking the mom life as well! ❤️

“Midwives sit with us, weep with us, breathe with us, cry with us. Midwives work in hospitals, in birth centers, in homes (and sometimes even outside or in RVs). They walk with us as we grow life and birth life. But they also walk with us before, after, and in those sometimes painful years of waiting. They remind us that we’re capable and that we’re stronger than we know. Midwives know how to step back…and when to step in. They know how to place an IV and they also know which essential oil might give a tired mother a little boost of energy.

They know birth. They respect birth….and they remember that at the end of the day…it is OUR birth story, not their own.
Midwives are worth celebrating every year, but especially this year. We need their gentle guidance, their capable hands, and their wisdom now more than ever. Happy International Day of the Midwife. We are so grateful for you.” - Birth Becomes Her

The world is crazy right now and there are so many uncertainties, and I am heartbroken for the births I can’t attend because of this pandemic. Here’s to praying the world goes back to normal so much sooner than later! I cannot wait to start serving my beautiful mamas and babies again. I’m here and ready for you when it happens! And you mamas who are birthing during this crazy time are so brave and so powerful - you’ve got this, mama! You were made for this! 💪🏻
