There’s a moment that happens when someone forgets they’re being photographed.
When the performance drops away.
When the body softens enough to simply be.
This is the moment I’m always listening for.
I don’t rush it. I don’t force it. I let the space breathe until presence arrives on its own—often quietly, often unexpectedly. A hand resting on bark. A breath exhaled. A lifetime of stories settling into the body all at once.
This is portraiture as witnessing.
Not who you think you are—but who you are when no one is asking anything of you.
