Well it's been a busy September full of proposals! Sharing my first proposal session from Garden of the Gods since moving back to my hometown in the Springs.

During a proposal, I be sure to get to the dedicated spot early to make sure things are set up or secure the location, then after the question is popped, I offer a "Show off the Ring" session!

My photography journey began with capturing images of animals, and it was through this passion that I delved into pet end-of-life photography. I researched and discovered the power and significance of this genre, and I felt a deep desire to extend my services to families with elderly pets.

Abby was a patient where I had worked previously. She was in and out for a few conditions in her older age but she always seemed bright and she was very loved by her family. Her spirits were never down and that tail always wagged for us and them.

I had came back to work after a weekend off and noticed that we were signing a sympathy card for Abby in January, when I had taken her photos in October. This beat on my heart, as I was so happy I could offer them memories of some final moments with her and her family, just in time for her to wag "bye" and be able to watch over her family.

Abby was a patient where I had worked, at Ski Town Animal Hospital. She was in and out for a few conditions in her older age but she always seemed bright and she was very loved by her family.

Not sure what took me so long to post this photoshoot. I absolutely adored it. The lighting. The couple. Everything.

Have you ever heard of end of life photography for pets?

I highly recommend doing this for your family.
As your furry (or scaly) family member gets old, photos are the biggest things we will cherish them through along with the memories they leave behind.
These are some of my favorite moments to capture, so raw and so real.
And the amount of people once their pet has passed that come and say "Thank you" is what brings me the joy to continue to do these in the future.

This is Abby. She passed at the end of last year and I took these right when it was getting cold. The amount of love and care this family gave her was immense. I'm positive the love Abby gave back was enough for her to have lived a life fulfilled.

Instagram's cropping feature really kicks my ass. There is so much more detail in the mountains and sky that is cropped out.
