💙🧡 Some weddings are beautiful because of the flowers, the venue, or the details.

Some weddings are beautiful because every single choice reflects the couple standing at the altar.

Jenn & Steve's wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch was one of those weddings.

From the moment Jenn saw the Mountainside ceremony site and started crying during their venue tour, they knew they had found the place where they would say "I do." And honestly? Watching them stand together with those incredible Colorado views behind them, it was easy to see why.

What I loved most about their day was how unapologetically them it was.

A Lego minifigure bar.
A candy station.
Orange and blue details as a nod to the Broncos.
Rainbow shoes that became rhinestone cowboy boots.
The Avs game playing in the men's lounge.
The Veggie Tales Cheeseburger Song making an appearance at the reception.
No traditions that didn't matter to them.
Every detail that did.

Their first look ended up being one of their favorite moments of the entire day, and I completely understand why. There is something so special about taking a quiet moment together before the whirlwind begins.

The ceremony felt emotional and surreal, the speeches were heartfelt, and by the end of the night they found themselves doing exactly what every couple should do at least once during their wedding day—sitting together and simply watching the dance floor filled with the people they love most.

One of my favorite pieces of advice from Jenn and Steve was this:

✨ "The details that make it you are what people will remember."

And they are absolutely right.

Years from now, people may not remember the exact centerpieces or timeline. They'll remember singing along to inside jokes, building Lego minifigures, laughing with friends, dancing with kids, and celebrating a couple who weren't afraid to make their wedding look exactly like their relationship.

Jenn & Steve, thank you for trusting me to be part of such an incredible day. Your wedding was joyful, colorful, meaningful, and uniquely yours from beginning to end. 💙🧡

⚔️🌿 Not every wedding needs matching tuxes, formal traditions, or a perfectly scripted timeline.

Sometimes a wedding looks like a fantasy tavern tucked inside a magical forest.

Sometimes the groom carries a sword.

Sometimes the guests arrive in medieval garb.

And sometimes two wonderfully nerdy humans create a wedding day that feels like it was pulled straight from the pages of a fantasy novel.

Savvy and Avery's wedding at Once Upon a Time Events was one of the most unique celebrations I've ever had the privilege of photographing. Inspired by everything from Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Baldur's Gate, Elder Scrolls, Celtic traditions, and their shared love of fantasy worlds, they built an experience that felt completely and unapologetically them.

Every detail was intentional. Moss-colored linens. Lanterns and candlelight. Crowns. Cloaks. Swords. Forest-inspired décor. A room full of people who embraced the theme and stepped into the story right alongside them.

What I loved most wasn't the incredible styling (though let's be honest... it was AMAZING). It was watching two people completely let go of expectations and create a wedding centered around what actually brings them joy.

They didn't plan a wedding to impress anyone.

They planned a wedding that felt like home.

A wedding where they sang a duet together.

A wedding where family members cried happy tears.

A wedding where fantasy, friendship, love, and community all collided into one unforgettable day.

As a photographer, I absolutely LOVE when couples throw tradition out the window and create something that reflects who they truly are. Savvy and Avery did exactly that, and it was an honor to document every magical second of it.

Honestly? If more weddings involved swords, flower crowns, fantasy taverns, and people being unapologetically themselves, I would not complain one bit. ❤️

Savvy & Avery, thank you for letting me step into your world for a day. It was magical from beginning to end.

From the moment I met these two, I knew this day was going to be something special… but WOW did they absolutely exceed every expectation.

Lightsabers? ✔️
Epic sunset duels on a bridge? ✔️
A full wedding party ready to throw down Jedi vs Sith style? ✔️
