One thing about me as a photographer: I will NEVER be upset with you for choosing another photographer, even if we’re friends or family. 💛 At the end of the day, it’s YOUR hard earned money that you’re choosing to spend, and you deserve to spend it on someone whose work you genuinely love. Photography is art, and art is subjective. Not everyone is going to love my editing style, just like I’m not going to be everyone’s first choice. and that is completely okay. A mature photographer understands that.
Honestly, I think it applies to so many industries. If you have a friend who’s a photographer, hairstylist, nail tech, esthetician, or anything else and they make you feel guilty for choosing someone other than them, that’s not how friendship should feel. There is no room for jealousy over here!
I think of photography like music. We can love the same people and still gravitate toward completelyyyy different genres. One person loves country, another loves rock, another loves R&B, but none of them are “wrong.” They just have different taste.
Photography is the same way.
So if you love my work and choose me, I’m incredibly grateful. 🥹 And if you love someone else’s work more, or their work speaks to you more and you choose them? I’ll still love you, support you, and probably hype up your pictures when you post them! But just know if you choose me I will treat your babies like my own & your parents like they are my parents. I treasure my clients & I want you to feel like you got the best experience. Not walk away feeling like you just waisted your time & money. You are treasured and appreciated here 💛
Your friendships, and even family relationships, should never come with an obligation to spend your money a certain way.💛
