My biggest approach to a wedding day is being a fly-on-the-wall photographer 📸

Sometimes the best shots are of the moments you didn’t even know were happening or the ones where you were so fully present that you had no idea I was even photographing you! The real, genuine moments on a wedding day are the ones you’ll want to remember the most and I love being the one to get to capture those moments.

I do think posing is important as well! I love a healthy balance of posed and candid portraits in my galleries.

I got to work with these two for their engagement session and the wedding. I love offering an engagement session with my packages so I can get to know my couple and so they can get to know me before we spend their whole wedding day together! It gives them an idea of how I work and lets them feel more comfortable on the big day because I’m not a stranger!

I’m starting to love black and white more and more 🖤🤍

I am starting to share more of my weddings from last year that I haven’t shared yet! This was Amanda and Mike’s big day and they were so fun. The rain made the day even more whimsical and stopped just in time for them to have a lovely outdoor ceremony!

Let’s talk New Year resolutions!

I usually don’t partake in these because I know myself and I’ll say I will workout more and then it will all be over by February 😂 But this year I have a couple of things that I feel more confident about sticking to and they are:

- learning film photography (something I’m SO excited about and have been meaning to learn for awhile)

- being more present on my business socials!

Both of these are related to my business and photography which I love so I feel pretty confident that I’ll be staying consistent with them! I also have a Disney trip coming up and I will be bringing my 35mm film camera with me so I can’t wait to practice with it while I’m there!

I would honestly LOVE to hear yours if you have any because I feel like people are participating less and less in these so I’m just curious! Do you have any new year resolutions?!

Willoughby Farms in Collinsville is one of my favorite wedding venues for so many reasons but mostly because it’s right in our town and has a lot of sentiment to our family. & the sunsets are always gorgeous 🌅
