It’s a summer of bumps and I’m here for it.

Is it weird to compliment someone’s bump? Because I did- she had possibly the best looking stomach I’ve ever seen 😂 I wish I had looked half this gorgeous pregnant.

A couple of year ago, I told my kids all I wanted for Mother’s Day was no fighting and updated studio pics with me and them. And they delivered. I am so thankful to have images with my babies to remind me of the different seasons. When they were babies and attached to me 24/7. When they were toddlers and Benny was the ultimate sour patch kid- so sweet and snugly and one second later jumping on my head.

Don’t push off photos waiting for the perfect time. Capture the season you’re in with all the chaos and knee scrapes and missing front teeth. It’s a beautiful season wherever you’re at in Motherhood.

One of my biggest pet peeves as a parent. When seasoned parents scare newbies with “oh just you wait” talk. They think they’re being helpful or funny saying-
- Oh just you wait, that baby won’t sleep through the night and you’ll never sleep again.
- Oh just you wait, that toddler is going to be rough and throw the biggest tantrums
- Oh just you wait, you’re entire weekends are going to be birthday parties and sports.
- Oh just you wait, that preteen/teenager is going to hate you and have the worst attitude.

Going through all these seasons, I have discovered every single one is hard, but also has the best moments and is the most rewarding thing in your life. You know what I want to tell you as a Mom for 10 years?

- Just you wait until that baby smiles up at you for the first time.
- Just you wait until that toddler picks a flower just for you on yalls walk.
- Just you wait until you see your kid score their first goal.
- Just you wait until that preteen/teenager can ride in the front and blast your favorite music with you heading to Starbucks and shopping.

Moms, I know. I know your to do list is a mile long and that last thing you need to do is add photos on top of it.

But hear me out. Your babies are growing and changing everyday. Those tiny little details you don’t want to forget, they will outgrow. My son just turned 8 and it feels like the slowest breakup of all time. He still has his snuggly moments, but I can feel him growing up and not wanting to hold his mom’s hand all the time especially in front of friends.

Let photos be proof this season happened. That you were there and it was beautiful. You showed up everyday even when it was hard.

Give me 20 minutes. That’s all I need. Show up with your babies, borrow a dress and I’ll handle everything else.

Spring minis kicked off last night and what a night. I got to hang with one of my favorite families and it’s exactly what I needed. Melanie is one of those moms that make you not only want to be a better mom, but also have her adopt you as well😂

I’ve missed outdoor sessions and can’t wait for the next round of minis
