When I first got my camera, eight years ago, colonial Williamsburg was the first trip it took. I still love those old photos, but it’s fun to take some updated ones.

Got water bottles? Then you’ve got pest protection. Ain’t no way a bird is getting into this maize, and the solution was a free way to re-use existing waste and protect the yield.

I am back in Ghana, and this time I have the privilege of working with, and staying at, the Center for No Till Agriculture. The first time I stayed here, in 2022, I not only learned about conservation agriculture for the first time, but also was sent on a journey to aim my research to further CA practices because of their social, agricultural, and environmental benefits.

So here I am! Back at one of my favorite places in the world. The CNTA farm and learning center is full of real applications for CA, agroforestry, and agroecological practices that work! My first day here we ate a meal that was full of fresh ingredients grown right on the ground.

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures of my adventure here. 🫶

Just a little savannah prairie friend! The Patas monkey, scientifically known as Erythrocebus patas, is a species of monkey found in various regions of Africa, including Uganda. Patas monkeys are primarily found in savannah habitats, including grasslands, open woodlands, and semi-arid areas in the northeastern and northwestern parts of the country. They are often associated with areas where there is a mix of grassland and scattered trees. This means they are diurnal, and spend a lot of time on the ground, in groups called “troops”!
