A little (or a lotta) bit about me 🤍
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for anything creative. If I wasn’t drawing, singing, writing, coloring, or creating something, I never really felt like myself. Creativity has always been such a huge part of who I am, and I think deep down I always knew I wanted a life where I could create and make people feel something.
Before I was even 12 years old, I used to make silly little music videos with my ipad and post them on Facebook for my friends and family (I know… embarrassing 😂 you just had to be there, I promise it was cool at the time lol). But honestly, I think that’s what first sparked my love for cameras and storytelling. For two whole years, all I wanted was a camera of my own — and on Christmas morning when I turned 12, my wonderful mom surprised me with the one thing I had been begging for: my very first Canon camera, a T3i. I still remember how excited I was.
At first, photography was just something fun that I loved doing, but once I took photography classes in high school, everything changed for me. I started taking photos of my friends and family just for fun, and that’s when I truly discovered how much I loved capturing people and helping them see themselves the way the world sees them — beautiful.
After high school, I worked a regular 9-to-5 while continuing photography on the side. Even though those jobs helped me, I always knew my heart was somewhere else. It wasn’t until I had my son and spent more time at home that I realized I wanted more freedom, more creativity, and the chance to truly work for myself doing something I loved.
In 2021, I officially started my business. Things were still difficult during COVID, and there were definitely a lot of learning experiences along the way, but I kept going. Over the years, I’ve struggled with things like consistency, content sharing, time management, and balancing life with business — but I truly believe every business owner experiences those growing pains.
Now looking back at where I started compared to where I am today, I can honestly say I’m proud of how much I’ve grown — not only as a photographer, but as a person. I feel like my work reflects that growth too, and this year I’m pushing myself to be even better than I was the year before.
Most importantly, I can finally say that I truly love what I do. Photography no longer feels like a job to me — it feels like purpose. Getting to capture memories, make people smile, and create moments that last forever is something I’ll never take for granted.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, booked with me, shared my work, or simply followed along on this journey. Your support truly means more than you know, and I’m so excited for all of the fun and exciting things this year has in store for Chatham Photography 🤍
