We’d given up on taking photos at this point because the clouds had moved in and everything looked a bit dull with the lack of light. So we grabbed some food and sat by the river. The sun was trying so hard to break through and finally, for about a minute or so there was this gorgeous warm beam illuminating just about the right parts of the view. After a couple of quick snaps it was all over again. Literally a lucky break!

Sometime, splitting from the group pays off. Mark and I decided to follow the path a little further and found this great view. There was also a convenient shortcut up to the main road. Not recommended after it’s been raining though..

I guess I’ve not really taken or posted photos since last years photo walk in Cold Spring (aside from the Devon seaside set). Oh dear. So here we are again, on a recent day trip from New York City to Cold Spring, on the same woodland walk with the hubby and the photo group.

Another one from our day out to North Devon for sunset. Just looking out into the distance and listening to the waves - bracing myself for the climb off the rocky beach and hike back to the car.

Also known as the Cathedral of the Hudson valley, this beautiful stone church sits on a hill in the centre of Cold Spring. It made for a stunning backdrop and subject on our fall photography day.

Taken on a recent day trip from New York City to Cold Spring. We found a lovely woodland walk with a stream running through it. The calm water surrounded by fall colours was beautiful!

•••▪︎ Hummingbird and Flower ▪︎•••
My favourite snap I got the other day. Hummingbirds are a nightmare to photograph. It took a while to figure out their patterns and behaviour a bit. On a few occasions they hovered in front of the flower before sticking their head into it and dropping back out in a split second.
