I can’t think of a better way to show appreciation for your clients than to have their pups professionally photographed! That’s exactly what this company did. They had a dog-friendly gathering, complete with my studio setup. All the dogs understood the assignment: look as cute as possible.

Its officially the first day of summer, aka silhouette season 😃

Silhouettes are some of my favorite types of images to make, especially of pups and their people. It’s a perfect way to be in photos with your dog if you’re a little camera shy (like me!)

I hope you have some fun stuff lined up for this summer. Here in Vermont we gotta make the most of it while it’s here. (And please send me good vibes for sunny weather so I can make more silhouettes this year!) Happy Summer Solstice!

Last night was supposed to be a client session but with so much uncertainty in terms of the weather, we opted to reschedule and it ended up definitely being the right call. However, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to photograph some wild skies so Cedar and I braved the wind, dark clouds, and puddles and headed out on the Colchester Causeway.

This shot was my favorite from our adventure! The sun peeked out in a break in the clouds and the perfectly placed puddle was the icing on the cake. It’s not often that I can’t decide which I like better - black and white or color but this is one of those scenarios. What’s your vote? 🎨 or 🖤?

We’re celebrating another birthday today - Bugs turns one! A fellow Bengal owner described her kitten as like “living with a baby raccoon” and I couldn’t agree more 😂
Despite his naughtiness we love this little wild child. He’s pretty much a dog living in a cat’s body - and, bonus, he loves having his picture taken! Happy birthday, buddy 🩶🖤

Another great group of pups showed up for their spring portraits amongst the pink blossoms! It’s always a bit of a gamble holding mini sessions with particular blooms, but this year there wasn’t a frost or a storm or some other curveball from Mother Nature. Just a bunch of good doggies!

The apple blossoms this year were spectacular - for about 36 hours - then they were all gone! Lucky for me, I got TWO gorgeous mornings to photograph my horses and they actually kind of cooperated 😆 I find horses to be very challenging to photograph (compared to dogs) but the end results are oh so worth it!

Model Call!! - Mallett’s Bay

I’m looking for a dog model for a session on a pontoon boat! Does your pup love to go boating? I’d love to hear from you, because this is about as close to a boat that my dogs have ever gotten 😂

Bonus points if you or someone in your family has a boater’s license and is willing to operate said pontoon boat for the session.
