This was one of the last photos I took while living in Washington. The next week we spent driving through the blizzard of the century getting back home.
I remember this day very vividly. It was my last outing to try and grab a few waterfall shots that I hadn't been able to grab yet. Two of the waterfalls had closed trails and I didn't have the time to hike 10 miles since my wife was at work. So I had to improvise and spend some time finding smaller waterfalls.
While I enjoyed the waterfalls that day, I was lamenting having to return home and leave the PNW behind. But on the drive to pick up my wife from work, I was greeted with this setting sun. So I pulled over and just enjoyed the sun setting on my time in the PNW, hoping to come back soon.
To this day I still miss the weekly (or daily) opportunities for taking amazing photos. Getting out and trying to take photos since returning home just hasn't been the same. So hopefully one of these days I'll get a chance to return, grab a few awesome photos, and introduce my son to the PNW lifestyle.
