Well we did it. 5,280 some odd miles, 13 states, and one Canadian province, grew up in Idaho and embarrassed to say I've never seen Stanley, Ketchum or Idaho Falls until this trip. Amazing state. Craters of the Moon was cool, so we're the sawtooth's. Mcall's a charmed city with good breweries.

Our trip was a beautiful blend of planned sight seeing and serendipitous experiences. Everyone was so friendly, (except for the annoyed railroad worker). Other than the stupid humidity of the Midwest, and relentless heat, it was a beautiful drive. Thank God for air conditioning, and a patient wife.

From eating amazing bbq in Kansas City to hiking to a lake reflecting the Grand Tetons.... that was quite a 24-hours. Got to visit one of my favorite breweries: "Boulevard" in Kansas City. We ate at the renowned bbq restaurant: "Jack and Stack". Nothing to say about traveling through the length of Nebraska other than there's lots of corn. Rawlins Wyoming has a historic prison. Never been to Wyoming, but wow. I'm pretty sure "home on the range" had to be written by someone sitting in Wyoming. I did not see antelope and deer playing but I did see both. Interesting fact, there's more people in the Spokane Metro area than the whole state of Wyoming.

The Tetons were incredible. We did a nice 2 mile hike into a lake that reflected the mountains. Took a swim and lots of pictures. Jackson is super touristy as I thought. Ungodly crowded and very expensive. But I can say I've been there. Hot but no more stupid humidity.

We had planed to stay the night in St. Louis with no real agenda. It ended up being a highlight of the trip. The grand train station was amazing. They converted what once was the busiest train station in the world, to a family center and hotel. The light show in the Grand Hall choreographed to music was breathtaking. The botanical gardens were insanely impressive. Such a huge garden I could have spent the entire day there... Even with the stupid humidity.

Whiskey Heaven day. Buffalo Trace distillery is Disney Land for middle age men. Great tour, Huge distillery, some of the most renowned whiskeys...kind of a must see. Then off to Louisville, only made it to 5 distilleries on whiskey row. Kudos to Brenda for long-suffering and indulging me.

The best tour and favorite distillery goes to Peerless. Brenda even enjoyed it. Such a fun day! Other than the heat and humidity.

Off to Kentucky, but first we were able to meet up with the Union Pacific "Big Boy" In Ohio. The largest steam locomotive still working in the world. It's doing a cross country journey for America's 250th anniversary. I got too close. Got yelled at by some "official" what a rush , it worth it!

First Distillery of many, the James Pepper distillery in Lexington, then to The Woodford distillery, then the Castle and key distillery. All historic, all amazing. What was truly amazing was driving through the Kentucky countryside. Million dollar horse ranches, oak lined country roads...It's as beautiful as people say it is. Humidity still sucks.

First time in Toronto. Took a 2 hr train ride from London. Amazing city. Didn't realize how huge this city is...4th largest in North America. CN Tower, bus tour, distillery, and brewery. Pretty successful day. But what was truly amazing was Shake Shack. I had a slice of a caramel butter tart inside a scoop of frozen custard. And while I was waiting for this dessert of the gods, I could have had a beer or whiskey at the bar. Brilliant!

Found ourselves in the theater capital of Canada Stratford, Ontario. Charming English looking town along the River Thames. Yes, they have a thing for England here. Stratford is also the childhood home of Justin Bieber. Went to a play, " Something Rotten" The theater here is supposed to be renowned, and for over $200 a ticket I would hope so. I must say, I was not disappointed and would do it again. It was freaking amazing! A fanfare actually announced by trumpeters letting us know when intermission was over. Nice touch.

Went to a pub afterwards .Nothing like a beer in an English pub, watching England play in the world cup. It is as close as you can get to an English experience without actually being in England. God save the King.
