Comparison is a self-built prison.
Social media is such a huge part of our generation, but one of the most damaging parts of it is how easily we compare ourselves to the people we see online.
“I wish I looked like her.”
“If I stop eating, maybe I’ll have that body.”
“Why don’t I have curves like she does?”
“Why am I so skinny?”
“Why can’t I look like them?”
The truth is, we’ll always find something we wish we had. If it’s not one thing, it’ll be another. Comparison keeps moving the finish line, and chasing someone else’s body will never bring lasting peace. You only get one life, and you only get one body. It carries you through every thing. It deserves kindness, nourishment, and respect, not constant criticism. Unrealistic beauty standards have convinced so many of us that we’re never enough. But you were never meant to look like everyone else. Your body is uniquely yours!!
F**K. UNREALISTIC. BEAUTY. STANDARDS.
Love yourself a little more. Speak to yourself with the same kindness you’d give someone you love. Let’s stop comparing. Let’s start encouraging. Let’s remind each other that our worth has never been measured by a number on a scale or the shape of our bodies. We’re all enough exactly as we are.
