My son's last day of high school is today, and it seems like just yesterday he was this age. How time flies! As we get ready for this new chapter in our lives, I'm filled with excitement, anticipation, sadness, and all these competing emotions. But through all that I have not once regretted being able to build a business that worked with my own family needs while documenting love and connection like this. If you've been in front of my camera, thank you for showing me who you are. I know it can feel quite vulnerable, but it's something you will cherish. xoxo!

Just got scans back from the sweetest in-home newborn session welcoming baby Callum to the family🩷. All of this right here is why I love in-home sessions. Family squished on the loveliest glider you ever saw (which I happened to live in when my babies were little)? Yes please. Mom and baby moment of love and connection? Yes, please. Family time in the nursery between kisses, laughs, cuddles, & knee horsey? Yes, please. Had to share at least one more from this sweet session. The way she's looking at her dad just gets me every time 😭😭 and brings me right back to the core of why I love doing what I do. Which is trying to tell a story about beautiful connection in a true yet messy and imperfect way. (If you feel the calling to get in front of my camera this spring or summer, message me!)

And this quote below just got me too. It's so universal. Kids often feel underestimated or like they don't have a voice. Older people feel disregarded or forgotten....and on a personal note - as a photographer in mid-life who will soon be an empty-nester - I feel like I'm aging out of this current phase of my life. What does that mean for my photography? For my relationships? For my self worth? But it's really just about accepting change, being open to a new chapter, and learning what gift I can give to others to help make a difference. Even if sometimes it's just a smile to brighten someone's day.
