The bond with your first child- they showed you what it means to care for someone unconditionally, they gave you the biggest responsibility of your life, they’ve shown you where your unhealed childhood triggers are for the very first time, where you need to soften and forgive, where you need to change for the better. Sometimes you expect way too much of your oldest- and you get a glimpse without them in the context of being the oldest and realize they’re still little. They’re still your baby.

Hey! It’s me (and baby boy Woods) Recently I’ve gotten clear on what I want to share here. I am mostly over on my other profile but I have kept this one because I needed to get my vision back for it. I know there’s something there. Each time I’ve “stopped” photography I have because I fell into a more generic track of photography that didn’t feel like me- you want to create art and capture moments but then suddenly you’re people pleasing and trying to conform to those who want the perfect portrait- the smiling at the camera, every inch must look perfect and styled, and posed, and airbrushed, and you lose the vision, the art gets washed away, it’s not gritty, or emotional, or real anymore. I have fallen into that trap a few times and suddenly I feel burnout. I’m going to be posting whatever I love here and if someone wants that type of thing- yes I’m taking sessions! But taking some time really helped me to get back on track. I am doing brand design and brand sessions and sharing but right here, this place is going to be for the art, the mess, the real life, the good stuff that will make you (maybe just me) shed a tear when you step back and think deep about life and how quick it flashes by. Thank you for being here with me if you still are! Also thankful for friends who grab my camera and snap a photo for me ❤️❤️❤️

Even though started learning film and commercial photography when I was in Graphic Design school (long time ago!) I really fell in love with photography and started taking clients once I dove into documenting my oldest daughter as a toddler and her and I in everyday moments. I fell far away from doing this once I got busy taking other people’s photos and I really am feeling drawn to getting back to it! Brought my camera to the lake on our last really summery day and we had a lot of fun with it!
