Something pretty big just happened in real estate, and it's worth talking about.
Several of the country's largest real estate organizations have teamed up to announce something called Open Real Estate (OpenRE).
The goal? Make it easier to share home listings across the industry instead of having property information scattered across different systems.
For homeowners, that could eventually mean more opportunities for buyers to discover their homes.
For agents, it could mean changes to how listings are entered, shared, and marketed.
And for companies like Higginbotham Media? We're especially interested in what this means for listing photography, videos, drone footage, floor plans, and 3D tours.
We're keeping an eye on how this develops so we can stay ahead of changes that could affect our clients.
There's still a lot we don't know, and the platform isn't live yet. But it's an interesting development for an industry that's constantly evolving.
One thing we do know: No matter where buyers find your listing, the first impression still matters.
We wrote a blog post breaking down what OpenRE is, what it could mean for homeowners and agents, and how we're preparing for what's next.
Take a look!
