Federal judges and especially Supreme Court justices should be required to comprehend Native treaty rights and how US and Native law intersect. It’s part of their job. Willful ignorance (and racism) gets us travesties like this.

The United States Supreme Court has limited the scope of its historic McGirt decision.

In a 5-4 vote, the high court ruled in Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta that the state of Oklahoma has concurrent jurisdiction and the ability to prosecute non-Natives when the victim is Native and the crime is committed on tribal land.

“From start to finish, the dissent employs extraordinary rhetoric in articulating its deeply held policy views about what Indian law should be,” Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s opinion reads.

When you make it possible to outlaw abortion and then say you want to re-examine contraception laws then it has NOTHING to do with babies. It has everything to do with controlling uteruses and subjugating women. This is what happens when you have fear masquerading as religion.

Anyone else tired of the christian t@liban enforcing their beliefs on the rest of us when we supposedly have freedom of religion in this country and separation of church and state?

Start Again. This is my third time doing the Artist’s Way. The first time was in my 30s I think - so a long time ago! I’m aiming to finish the 12 weeks this time.

I always learn a lot through the process. And am grateful and inspired to be doing it with others.

Have you done the Artist’s Way? How was it for you? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!👇

Enjoying the shifting light and misty mizzle this morning. Until the mizzle shifted more towards drizzle and then I moved to go inside.

Swipe to see what Pepper thought of that!

After a couple ball throws we were back to negligible mist for a while and sime breakthrough sun so I was able to stay outside a little longer.

For those of you wondering what is fascia and why should I care? And what are all these posts you’re doing about MELT? Here’s a concise explainer reel from .

MELT Method and restoring hydration and resilience to my fascia has completely transformed my post-abdominal surgery body.

It has also gone a long way towards healing old knee and ankle injuries and I am well on my way to being able to do things physically I haven’t been able to do in 20 years.

It made such a huge impact for me that I trained to become an instructor so that others could also learn it and gain benefits. After all why keep these benefits just to myself?! 😉

If you’re curious about how MELT could help you or about my online classes DM me.

In person MELT classes are moving online for the winter.

Given that MELT is a gentle restorative technique, simulating a massage by manipulating our bodies' connective tissue layers, the cold morning temperatures in the studio are not really conducive to the work.

Therefore in person classes at will be suspended for the winter months and I'll be teaching the Saturday 9:30 am classes online instead.

So please join me from the comfort of your warm homes. The classes will still be 1hr and cost $15, or $60 for a package of 5 classes. These classes are all levels and beginners are welcome.

Don't have MELT tools. Don’t worry! I'll be teaching modifications where you can use two rolled up beach towels. That way people can try the classes before investing in their own tools.

If you do want to buy your own tools I'd appreciate it if you would use my affiliate link at the Melt Method Store, where I get a small commission.
Register for class by either emailing me at [email protected] or calling or texting 707-278-9521.

If you want more info go to http://mariettepeeters.com/melt-classes.

It’s warm enough - and dry enough - to sit outside and write this morning. Balm on my soul.

Spending some time outside as the sun rises over the mountain brings me peace.

Pepper and I play for a time, I write, plan my day, sometimes read, and bask in the beauty that is my home and am grateful.

Grateful that despite all of the things and accomplishments that I have yet to achieve, I have accomplished so much in my life. Where I am now on this beautiful piece of meadowland in the mountains near a lake and hiking and surrounded by friends who love me is what I wanted. For years.

So sitting outside in the sun and fresh air with this view reminds me to be grateful for what I have. For what I had prioritized and created and also have been blessed with. Because let’s be frank there has been a fair amount of privilege that has enabled me to get to this point. That helped me to be in places and situations that made it easier for me to be able take advantage of the blessings.

Sitting outside in gratitude also reminds me that since I’ve realized this goal, I can realize others. This helping to counter the negative hopelessness that often accompanies depression.

Later I’ll continue work on my mid-winter project of cleaning out and reorganizing/ redecorating the inside of my home so I’m as inspired and gratitude filled by the inside as the outside. Basically I’ve got too much crap and not enough places to put it. I love ’s method for helping with this.
