Had what might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in the Pits at Nashville Superspeedway just 2 weeks ago. Thanks to my brother James we had VIP access and were able to be right next to the action on pit road during the Xfinity race as well as Cup practice and qualifying. Day 2 (Cup) to be posted soon.

On May 10th, like most of North America, I stepped out on the front deck about 10pm. I then rushed back inside, got/woke-up Tara and the kids, grabbed the camera and tripod.

Unlike Alaska a month earlier, you could see the Northern Lights without the camera. Ashlyn spent the next hour hanging out with me taking photos. Was really incredible to see them like this, from our front deck.

The first week of April I was sent to Alaska for a work training session. I was lucky enough to go up a few days early and got to play photographer. Roughly 500 miles in 3 days on a rental car, close to 15 total miles hiked, hundreds of photos, and even got to see a moose in the wild. along the way I learned how to photograph the Northern Lights, which came in hand a few weeks after getting back to East Tennessee.
