New Siri-controlled LED light strip in my darkroom. I’ve tested these at 50% brightness set to “Red” via Siri for fogging on B&W Ilford paper and have seen no evidence of an issue so far. I have them places so the light is completely ambient, and it nicely augments my more direct Safelights. And, because the strip can be adjusted to any color, it also makes a more pleasing light source than the ultra-harsh shop lamp I’ve used so far.... creating a nice glare-free environment when digitizing negatives and slides as well. This light strip is by VOCOlinc. .official

I’ve been able to add a Cooke Series VIIb 82mm lens to my kit... this lens ideally covers 6x9, but without movements may just cover 4x5”. I’ll be mounting it into a Linhof board once I acquire a Copal shutter for it. Swipe right to see all three of my Coke series VIIb lenses.

Perfect fit!!!!
My ChromaGraphica dual dryplate holders arrived today... two for 5x7, three for 4x5. Picture one here is the 5x7 fit into my Intrepid 5x7 camera. Picture two is the 4x5 in my Intrepid 4x5 MKIV camera. For these cameras this is a perfect fit!!

I actually got the 5x7’s for my Deardorff, but unfortunately they don’t sit flat on that camera. I have some old leaky wooden ones I’ll continue to use for that camera... adds character!

100 is my first film choice for 5x7. It’s not a film I’ve shot with previously, and has interesting qualities in its ability to be reverse processed (something I won’t be doing at first). It should work well with my favorite EcoPro chemistry. I’m hoping to shoot with it this weekend, weather permitting!

I e decided to go with K.B. Canham focus screens on my Intrepid cameras.
Initially, for my 4x5, repurposed an old Beattie Intenscreen that came off my Deardorff when I upgraded that to a Maxwell screen. I’ve been using that, but it’s quite old and scratched (but better than the original in brightness).
My 8x10 Intrepid came with a K.B. Canham screen which I really like... it’s a bit brighter than the original, and has open corners which allow sub-heated air to escape the bellows.
So, I purchased a K.B. Canham for the new 5x7 (which you can see me installing in these pictures). In the process I was accidentally sent a 4x5 which I decided to buy also from .of.jp and will replace the scratched Beattie on the smaller Intrepid.
I’m pretty happy to have “standardized” on this screen upgrade for the Intrepids. The glass that they come with is quite nice, and this is by no means a necessary replacement, but I personally prefer these screens with their improved brightness and open corners. And it doesn’t make sense to put Maxwells on these inexpensive cameras as I have done on my Linhof and Deardorff cameras.

These are some of the new film processing reels I use in the PhotoTherm unit.2.25x3.25, 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10. Some of these were prototypes... I actually have two types of 5x7 reels that orient the film differently. These also work in a Jobo tank.

This is so cool.. .of.jp sold me my camera and lens kit, along with their branded 8x10 sheet film. They asked permission to and are using this photo of mine for postcards that they include with their orders. Here you can see the front and back. If you want to learn a bit more about this photograph please look back in my feed a ways. Thank you Omer (CatLABS) for this and for all the amazing hard to find items I’ve been able to get through you!
