5 things to keep in mind when choosing wedding day shoes:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) Style: Consider shoes that will complement your dress and overall style. If your dress has beautifully detailed beading, romantic lace, tulle, etc, you can absolutely find shoes that incorporate those details!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) Timing: You'll want to buy your shoes shortly after or around the same time as your dress, because for dress alterations, they'll need the exact height of your shoes.

3) Research: you can start with large scale retailers to help you narrow down what you like and dislike! Two of my favorites are and .

4) Venue : be sure to keep your venue in mind. If you're having an indoor or outdoor wedding, this will influence your shoe choice (you probably won't want to wear stilettos for a ceremony in the grass)

5) Comfort: this one is so important; you shouldn't be in pain or discomfort on your wedding day! If you buy online, try standing in your shoes for at least 30 minutes. On your wedding day, you'll be on your feet for hours, so you want to make sure you're comfortable standing in them for a long period of time. You can always switch to flats for your reception!

Some of my brides have bought beautiful shoes for their detail photos (so gorgeous in an heirloom album!), getting ready photos, and portraits, and switched to something more comfortable for the rest of the day :)

3 tips for choosing your wedding vendors:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) Decide where your priorities are and what is most important to you: is it important to you to have an experienced planner plan your wedding from start to finish so you can have a stress free day? Or maybe you're dreaming of timeless, classic photos to pass on for generations as family heirlooms. Maybe you’ve always wanted an epic party, so an amazing DJ is a must. Every vendor is important but decide which vendors are most important to you.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) Get to know them beyond the service they provide, especially with vendors you will personally spend a lot of time with during your wedding day (like your photographer and planner). For example, you can absolutely love a photographer's photos, but if you don't feel like your personalities 'click' (had to throw in a photography pun😂), you might end up feeling awkward or uncomfortable throughout the day.

3) Read their reviews: anyone can tell you how awesome their service is, but it speaks volumes hearing it from other couples who have personally worked with them too.

And here's my biggest tip of all: trust your gut. I think that one of the toughest parts about planning a wedding is knowing which vendors to trust with one of the biggest days of your life. Thinking back to when December used to feel so frantic and unnecessarily busy and I never want that again😂 This past year, I’ve really tried to lean into slowing down, simplifying, and being more intentional with less, and it’s been so good for me.

This month feels like a breath of fresh air full of so many of my favorite things instead of a pace of hurry that I don’t want to keep up with🙌🏼

Some of my favorite simple joys this season are movie nights, hot cocoa, baking, gathering with loved ones, and reading. What are you looking forward to most this month?
