I've had a lot of conversations about COVID and photoshoots. Now, I have done quite a few shoots during this time, both with and without masks.

I think people are afraid to take photos with their masks on, but honestly, I think it adds to your shoot, depending on what you're going for. Masks can be a fun accessory, especially when you're having a shoot in a place that requires masks to be worn at all times.

Do not be afraid to use masks in your photoshoots!

FAVORITE WEDDING APPS

So, as someone who plans events, having Apps that make my job easier is KEY. And that is something I will always glad pass onto my clients as well.

One of my personal favorite apps was Wedding Wire while I was planning my own wedding. It was incredibly handy; I was able to keep track of everything I needed, AND it gave me a realistic timeline of when I needed to have everything done. It gave me prompts when I needed to send out invites (Down to the day!) or order my linens, or meet with our caterer, etc.

With Wedding Wire, I was able to not just plan my wedding, but also my sisters directly 3 months after mine. It also helped that It was connected with The Knot, which helped me find vendors for our big day.

When in doubt, you guys... Get a wedding planning app! Even if you have a wedding planner, this will allow you to work directly with your planner and keep you accountable for making sure you order and speak with them in a timely manner.

There are always lessons to be learned... and one of the biggest we have learned this year is to be GRATEFUL for what we have. It's so hard when it feels as if everything has been stripped away; However if you look on the positive side - the side that says Look at ALL that you already have... that is the voice you should follow. ⠀

Amazing Quality, Fabulous Cast Members, Spectacular Clients... we have so much to be thankful for. The ability to still provide on a platform for our performers and a place where we still can make magic for families... that is PRICELESS worth.⠀
⠀
A wise song once sang, "And that's why we share all we have with you⠀
Though there's little to be found⠀
When all you've got is nothing⠀
There's a lot to go around." ⠀
⠀
And that is so very, very true. So here's to Fall! We enter the end of the third quarter today with gleeful hearts and look forward to the countless memories we get to share.⠀

What Inspires You?

Honestly, there are more things than I can count... I love my clients, other photographer friends, books, Facebook groups, Youtubers, photography IGs, friends that let me take their photos.... its all very inspiring and helps me with the process.

Getting the opportunity to make magic is amazing... getting the chance to watch others do it is beyond humbling; Its bliss.

Not a day goes by where I am not thankful for the memories I help capture and the lives I get to see be changed.

Tip Tuesday!

Angles can make or break your photo... Allowing yourself the ability to move about freely during a shoot and positioning yourself at different spots can get you really fun and interesting photos, while also getting the best view of your client! Do not be afraid to play with angles!

I personally love rolling on the ground or standing on trash cans but, Not everyone is extreme as I am...

One of the things that absolutely drives my anxiety through the roof... is putting off editing photos.

If I keep refusing to sit down and do it, I can not even tell you how bad that is for my mental health. I have to schedule and make sure that it is something I do, and it in a timely manner - however editing up to 400 photos can be extremely daunting. I love the editing process, but there is something about it that is also terrifying. "What if they don't like my edits?" or "What if do not. get the colors right?"

At some point you have to stop questioning yourself and, in the wise words of Shia LaBeouf, Just DO IT!!
