Soft Power was never just an exhibition. It was a reminder.
A reminder that fear only grows when we let it keep us hidden.
This show was about being seen. It was about the courage it takes to step forward despite the fear and trust that who you are, trust who you are becoming , what you create, and the space you take up in the world is enough.
It was a celebration of every woman who said yes to becoming art. The women who trusted me with their stories, their vulnerability, and their image. There is something incredibly brave about allowing yourself to be witnessed, and this collection would not exist without them.
It was also a celebration of the responsibility I have always felt behind the camera. To help people see themselves differently. To show them beauty where they may not have seen it before. To create images that make people feel powerful, worthy, and unforgettable.
And if I’m being honest, it was a celebration of something else too.
A return.
While most people thought they were attending an art gala, they were also unknowingly celebrating my return to the art world full-time.
This exhibition reminded me of my purpose. It reminded me that photography isn’t just my job. It is my passion, my voice, my calling and the way I move through this world.
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported the work, donated to Haven Home, and helped make this night possible.
A night that started as an act of courage became a reminder of exactly where I’m meant to be.
I’m now looking for the next set of 5 women who want to see themselves as more and want to see themselves as art. Someone who wants to break free from the everyday, and move into something greater. If that is you, comment CONCEPT and I’ll tell you more about the process.
