There are five blue-zones on this planet. Blue zones are regions in the world where people are speculated to live longer than average, with a population of 90+ larger than any other region. After spending time in beautiful Puerto Carrillo, I understand why. Simple, delicious, healthy food, fresh air, movement, and stunning surroundings all promote happiness and contentment.

So grateful to share this landscape with beautiful people, connecting with the environment, one another, and themselves. Thanks to Melissa Klimo-Major of Society Verde for yet again curating the perfect balance of commune and self-reflection, of activity and stillness, and connection to the earth, each other, and ourselves. Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland is excited to announce that we are a participant in the Embrace Pet Insurance Community Challenge for the third year. With your support, we can maintain our winning streak for the dogs of City Dogs Cleveland! This year’s challenge goes live today (09/01) at Noon and runs through 11:55 PM on Friday, September 30th.

Last year, between generous donations and prizes, we were able to bring in over $34,000 to support the homeless dogs of Cleveland. This money is put to powerful use to provide resources to meet the dogs medical and enrichment needs, as well as funding adoption and foster programs as we seek a happy home for each homeless pup. We’re excited to share heart-warming stories of how these funds have changed the dogs lives as we attempt to replicate this success!

Embrace Pet Insurance presents the third annual EmbraceCLE Community Challenge, a community fundraising competition where select local charities compete to raise the most money for their non-profit. In addition to keeping any money raised for their charity, the top organizations will walk away with cash prizes from Embrace Pet Insurance. Artist Blek Le Rat arrived in Cleveland in this week on behalf of Graffiti HeArt, and will be painting 4 murals during his stay. This is a historical event in the making to host legend Blek le Rat in Cleveland, while also joining him for the first time ever, Taki 83. The two joined in on a collaboration at the Graffiti HeArt museum on August 12 & 13th!

From the Graffiti HeArt Blog:
“This special event is history in the making. Hosting Blek le Rat is a rare opportunity for Cleveland, and his trip to the U.S. is a chance of a lifetime for our community and for Graffiti HeArt. Bringing Blek from France and TAKI from New York City to meet one another for the very first time, is groundbreaking. The two have high admiration for one another and will collaborate at the Graffiti HeArt museum in August”, said Paul.

Banksy was partly inspired by Blek le Rat, real name Xavier Prou, 70.
