📢HEADLINER SPOTLIGHT: The Wandering Lantern Bookstore 📚

📗Story & Keepsake Journaling with Owner Emily Mitchell-Polci📗

In this thoughtful, creativity-centered breakout session, girls will gather for a story selected around themes of confidence, courage, friendship, individuality, and finding your voice. 🗣️ After the story, each girl will decorate her own keepsake journal using art supplies, stickers, and meaningful details that reflect who she is right now. 🖌️🎨

Once their journals are created, we’ll guide the girls through a simple writing ✏️ prompt connected to the heart of the event: noticing their own strengths, celebrating what makes them unique, and giving themselves kind words to carry forward. This session gives girls a quiet, hands-on space to reflect, create, and leave with something personal they can continue using long after the event.

Designed specifically for young girls, this session goes far beyond basic physical techniques.

Together, Daniel and Jessica teach vital situational 👀 awareness, verbal 🗣️ boundary-setting, and practical, easy-to-remember physical 👊 defense skills. Through an encouraging and uplifting environment, girls will step off the mat equipped with the tools, resilience, and inner strength 🙏 they need to navigate the school year with total confidence.

During this fun and engaging program, Emily reads Riley’s Remarkable Roller Coaster Ride and introduces our girls to the 🎢Roller Coaster Breath - a simple mindfulness technique that helps them manage stress, boost🚀 self-esteem, and find calm🧘‍♀️ in their daily lives.

Through a fun cheer🙌, handshake🤝, and Magic Scavenger Hunt🕵️‍♀️, girls will explore the ingredients that make up their own special inner magic and learn to see and celebrate the everyday magic that’s all around them. 🧭

After the interactive presentation, Emily will help the girls put what they’ve learned into action with a vision board they can take home. ✂️

Inspired by my own daughter and the challenges I've already seen pop up as we learn to navigate her tween era together, I created this event with other professionals who are ready to pour confidence into these girls through interactive experiences and actionable take-home knowledge.🧠

This retreat-style event has been condensed into one afternoon as a palatable experience for girls ages 8 to 12. It's been thoughtfully designed to EMPOWER, ENCOURAGE and ELEVATE by helping to connect young girls with their inner voice, vision and strength needed to navigate life as a tween and thrive as a teen.💪🏻

📣 POSTPONEMENT 📣

It was not easy to make this decision, but I have to believe this is what was always meant to be. We will be moving our tween empowerment event - hopefully to a date in September.

It'll be the same amazing experience that was expected, just with a new date! And I firmly believe this is in the best interest of girls who will be attending. We'll be back and it'll be that much more impactful 🤩
