I started this whole thing back in 2011. I never had a formal class or mentor, unless you consider YouTube and a dozens of books. I broke into my college’s photo studios…. Oops… I broke into random campus to put up flyers.. oops! I took any chance I got to let people know, “hey! I’m here”

It’s really special to look back and know you just have to take the first step.

I remember I had one shoot every two months. But one turned into two, into three, into a dozen and into the hundreds.

Yeah, a lot of people will think you’re crazy. A lot of people will think it’s cute. But that’s ok! They can think that. That’s just them, that’s not you.

Start small. Start with a friend. Be ok with being really lame. I promise, you keep showing up for you, it’ll build.

Don’t worry about the new year, new me. You can start today, or tomorrow, or next month. Life is a marathon, not a race. Take your time and find your pace.
