"Hidden in the Garden" 🌿
Somewhere beneath the petals, a small world is quietly unfolding.
A bird pauses.
Caterpillars wander.
Flowers open and fade.
And for a fleeting moment, everything exists together in a place that feels almost remembered rather than real.
There is always more happening in the garden than we see.

In "The Garden between Worlds", the hummingbird hovers in the quiet center, while a butterfly drifts through the blossoms and a praying mantis waits almost unnoticed below. Each creature seems to have wandered into this enchanted place for its own reason.

I love the idea that nature has its own secret conversations—ones we are lucky enough to witness for just a moment.

Perhaps this is where flowers go when we aren't looking. 🌿

"The Alliums are Coming." Apparently, the alliums have decided to take over the house—and someone has just realized it.

The flowers are everywhere—pouring through the doorway, spilling onto the floor, invading the room, and transforming an ordinary interior into something wonderfully surreal.

Maybe the garden didn’t come inside.

Maybe it broke in.

And judging by the woman running away and the goldfish on the floor, I suspect this story is not going to end well. 😉

🌸 Who Let the Cat Out? 🐈
Somewhere between the flowers, the fading light, and the last petals falling, someone let the cat out.
I love the quiet, slightly mysterious feeling of this scene—a bouquet beginning to unravel, petals scattered across the floor, sheer curtains catching the light, and that unmistakable little glimpse of a cat disappearing around the corner.
A little melancholy, a little magic, and perhaps a little mischief.
After all… every good story needs a cat. 🐾

A quiet walk through the woods can be a simple routine, but for Ohio-based visual artist and photographer Ryn Clarke Photography it became the catalyst for an enchanting visual language. 🌿🌸🦋

Born from lockdown walks where daily life narrowed to the blooming details of nearby trees and trails, Clarke’s series Fantastical Botanicals deconstructs the natural world and reconstructs it with boundless imagination. Manipulating scale, depth, and atmospheric perspective, Clarke allows flowers to loom like monuments, butterflies to command entire landscapes, and regional flora to mingle with fantastical elements. Blending rich digital composites with a sensibility informed by traditional darkroom hand-coloring, encaustic, and photopolymer gravure, her layered scenes sit somewhere between fine photography and visual collage. Rather than presenting nature as a static record, Clarke builds dreamlike ecosystems with their own internal logic—inviting us to wander in, look closer, and invent our own stories.

A rust-colored bloom unfurls itself in deepening rings of ember and w**e, its heart lit with a soft, secret glow.
Silvered leaves stretch wide like waiting wings, while delicate antennae rise above them. Grounded by twin green stems sits a muted, textured background with a translucent rectangle framing the bloom like a specimen case...reinforcing the transformation of plant into insect.
