Hi, we are the Houpts.

“I was born with a heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS, basically means that I am living with half a heart. I had three open heart surgeries before the age of 3.

I met Billy in 2012 and started dating. We got married in April 2017 excited for life and settled down in the sunshine state.

In February of 2022, I had an appointment with my cardiologist, where they talked about the possibility of having a child. The cardiologist said we could run a stress test to see if I could have a child on my own.

So, in August 2022, I did the stress test and went in for her appointment with the cardiologist to talk about the results. The cardiologist said that it is possible for me to carry her own child, but it comes with risks. 50/50 chance of something happening to the baby, or myself, including death.

That is when Billy and I talked seriously about other options. We looked at many avenues of becoming parents, but we decided on adopting to grow our family.

We have been ready to become parents for many years now, and watching our friends start their families makes that deep desire even stronger.”

It’s been a while!

I wanted to connect with all of you (especially those of you in Central Florida). We have been in Florida for over a year now and I have made connections with some pretty incredible people. Meagan is one of those people.

I wanted to be able to give to her and I figured what better way than to use my skill to do so.

I will be doing 5 sessions

This beautiful lady’s momma messaged me to ask if by chance I was going to be in town anytime soon. Fate would have it, I was going to there that weekend. They drove 2 hours to let me photograph them on my short (literally one day) trip to Indiana. We had a gorgeous sunset on a cloudy day! Perfection 🥰

This session was one of my recent trips to Indiana. The weather was sub par. We are talking snow and -30 wind chills. However, at the end of my trip the weather cleared and warmed up dramatically. So glad it did. I have photographed so many chapters of Rikki’s journey though life but we have done more photos in the past year than we ever have. ❤️ So excited for this next chapter for her and her family!

The Everett family is now a party of 7! Winnie is the sweetest and I am so happy that I get to be part of her life. ❤️
