What's the best time of year for senior photos? Let's talk Fall!

If you love rich colors, golden light, and crisp evenings, fall might be your season.

Here in the Upstate, October and early November bring beautiful autumn color that creates a completely different look from any other time of year. Think colorful leaves, cozy sweaters, boots, football games, and that warm golden glow that seems to make everything look magical.

Fall sessions are perfect for seniors who want their portraits to feel warm, relaxed, and unmistakably autumn.

And as a bonus, seniors who complete their full session before cap and gowns arrive have the opportunity to book one of my spring cap and gown mini sessions.

What's the best time of year for senior photos?

Over the next few days, I'm sharing the pros and cons of each season to help Class of 2027 seniors decide what might be the best fit for them.

☀️ First up: Summer

Summer is one of the most flexible times for senior photos. School is out, schedules are more open, and we have access to beautiful wildflowers, sunflower fields, lush greenery, and golden evening light.

It's also a great time for travel sessions. I'm available to travel for senior sessions to the beach, Charleston, the mountains, and other meaningful locations.

Plus, seniors who complete their full senior session before cap and gowns arrive receive access to my exclusive cap and gown mini sessions in the spring.

To every senior and every parent who trusted me with such an important season of life… thank you.

This was my busiest senior season yet in almost 7 years of business, and I had the honor of photographing close to 50 seniors between fall and spring. That number honestly blows me away a little.

Thank you for letting me celebrate your kids, cheer them on, calm nerves, laugh through awkward moments, chase good light, and help preserve memories that will only become more meaningful with time.

I know these photos are about more than yearbook deadlines or announcements. They mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, and it means so much to me that you chose me to be part of that.

To the Class of 2026, I am so proud of all of you and cannot wait to see where life takes you next. And to the parents… thank you for trusting me with your babies during such a bittersweet season. It never stops being an honor.

To my senior reps, I did not forget about you, but you deserve your own post. I honestly don’t even know how graduation week is already here.

You’ve been such a huge part of this year for me, and I’m so thankful for every session, every laugh, every crazy idea, and every memory we created together.

Watching you grow into who you are has been so special. I love you all so much, and I can’t wait to see what happens next for each of you.
