"Dante", a special 2021 Birthday/Christmas present from wife to husband! A VERY SPECIAL dog! From the wife before I began the 16 x 20 drawing: “He was very thick and muscly and full of duty, honor, and bravery. He always seemed very wise and intuitive to us. We always spoke to him in full sentences and he understood and obeyed. He was a little soldier in lots of ways. He seemed to love every day hoping for an opportunity to serve and protect his family. He was gentle and deeply secure. He defended his “little” brother who was a Great Dane but always got bullied by other dogs 😆. When I rescued and rehabbed baby squirrels, Dante was gentle and snuggly with them from the beginning. Always a gentleman. He was very big headed and wrinkly and full of bravado. Dante was my husband's first dog and changed his life.” And after the husband received this memorial to Dante: “He ADORES it. He did cry but he loves it. It’s hanging in our bedroom now. Thank you SO much! It is truly a treasure to our family.”
