The way they fit in your arms so sweetly.

It's been awhile for me here. I'm still plugging along, just at a much slower and more deliberate pace.

Over the next couple of days I will be sharing some of my most favorite work yet. A little baby comfortably wrapped in the arms of their loved one.

I have tried and tried again to make "traditional" newborn photography work, but it just doesn't work for me. The babies always have trouble settling and it just never feels quite right.

So here's to sweet, snuggly, cuddly little babies that are held oh so close, because as we all know, those babies just don't keep. ❤

You know those iconic family photos that just stick in your mind forever? There is one particular photo of my mom, turned to the side and posing in the living room that I grew up in. She managed to fit her pregnant belly into a pair of jean overalls and had on her conductor style hat that she used to wear. I have no idea who she was pregnant with at the time, but that photo is burned into my memory and I hope to someday find the original. As I take photos I can't help but wonder which ones will become those iconic photos for my kids. Will it be this one? Or maybe the next one? And if my kids don't cherish them, maybe their kids or their grandkids will.

Two sisters, springtime, and chalk ❤. Being able to watch the relationship of these two develop always amazes me. Sure, there are fights, but the love that is there could move mountains. I remember one time Hannah got so upset at Felicity and said, "You make me so mad! I mean, I still love you and stuff, but you are so silly sometimes!" 😂 I can't wait to see the dynamic change as youngest sister starts joining the ranks ❤

Space is a precious commodity in our little farm house, but when we had to replace our old washer with a new one, I just knew I had to save the box! It may take up majority of the play room, but I haven't regretted the decision for even a second.

And just like that, my newborn is an 8 month old, raspberry blowing, cereal eating, baby song singing, beauty.
