I've received a few messages asking for more of the story of what's been going on in my life/what is bringing me back to photography now. So here is the story of Trek + Bloom:
I started Trek + Bloom in 2014 and at that time was focused on intimate weddings and elopements. I was able to work with many amazing people and had the privilege of shooting in some of the most beautiful places in America (the Blue Ridge Mountains, the beaches of North and South Carolina, Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas, Zion National Park, Arches National Park, Lake Tahoe, Big Bend National Park in TX, Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver, and Chicago were all highlights). I also got to shoot an elopement in Iceland and quite honestly that experience still does not feel real. I was on a plane once a month and often gone for 3 or 4 days at a time for photography and met so many incredible people who became my friends (so many of you are still here and all I can say to that is thank you! I am so humbled.) I also worked as a Physical Therapist Tues-Thurs at a hospital. Looking back on that time in my life, I can confidently say I was "living the dream". At least my dream at the time. It was incredible. December 2017: I found out I was pregnant and almost immediately felt my heart stepping away from photography. I've spent the last 5 years having 2 babies, watching them grow, watching myself transform into a mom, and fully embracing the joy that comes with motherhood and 2 young kiddos in a home. I've enjoyed weekends spent as a family with my husband and our girls and am so grateful for every moment together. We've moved 3 times in the last 5 years but are now feeling pretty settled in TN. We hope to stay here a good long while. Daycare waitlist here are loooooong. So I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay home with our girls. Photography has been on my mind for the last couple of years but the timing hasn't felt right until recently. Now I'm feeling that passion seep back into my heart and I am so excited for what's to come! I'm focusing on families and couples this round because I feel drawn to document and showcase more of the "every day" beauty of this life.
