Trek and Bloom Photography Co. Family + Couples Photographer
Clarksville, TN
Let’s find beauty in the chaos together. I’m a family and couples photographer currently based in Clarksville, TN.

I value kindness, honesty, heart felt relationships, and living a life that makes you happy. I find joy in capturing families and couples in an artistic + authentic way. The name 'Trek and Bloom' represents a number of things to me. 'Trek' is for my love of traveling, hiking, and exploring. 'Bloom' for wildflowers and natural greenery. But it's 'Trek and Bloom' together because so much of who

I am today has been shaped by the people I have met and the experiences I have had while traveling. Travel and grow. Trek and Bloom. All images copyright Trek and Bloom Photography Co. (c) 2023

I’ve always been proud of where I’m from. Proud of my family, my hometown, the rural community. And even though it’s been 15 years since I’ve called Phelps county “home”, it still is. Some places get a hold of you and take root, and some places are your roots. Wherever “home” is for you, taking photos there makes those memories extra special. Because then not only are the people important, but we’re capturing a bit of that generational heritage too, the land. The place. So whether it’s a farm, a field, a front porch, or a neighborhood, capture those memories in those special places. You’ll be glad you did. 💕

Family photographs are memories frozen in time that might just be your most prized possession someday. 😊

Let’s talk lighting.
• Lighting is the most important and influential aspect of photography. In fact “photography” means “to draw with light”.
• Most people know about golden hour. That ✨magical ✨ hour before sunset or after sunrise. But have you heard of the blue hour? • Blue hour is the hour after sunset or before sunrise and, in its own right, is just as magical.
• True to their names, golden hour (the first image) has warmer light and results in images with a certain glow. Blue hour (second image) typically gives cooler tones and an almost ethereal feel. Both are beautiful.
• Which do you like more?

To be honest, restarting my business has me feeling a mix of fear and excitement. I want to do this and am really looking forward to meeting people, creating images together, and getting to deliver those tangible memories. But the other side of the coin is fear and all the what if’s. What if I’m not good enough? What if I fail? What if people don’t value what I want to offer? Whew. I am inspired by my oldest daughter, who has walked through so many changes and challenges in her short life and who meets fear at the door with her courage and kindness. May we all be brave and take that step towards whatever it is you dream of doing. ✨ // This image is a throw back to a collaboration I was so happy to be a part of in North Carolina several years ago. I was listening to The Creative Soul podcast by a few days ago and she was discussing the topic of beauty. I was struck by a comment Valerie made in the episode when she said we can never have too much beauty in the world. That we would never look at the Earth and say there were too many flowers, or too many beautiful sunrises/sunsets. This was eye opening for me because, as a creative, I sometimes find myself questioning if there is space in the world for what is in my heart to create. The resounding answer though, is yes. There is room for the beauty we all create, especially the beauty that speaks to our souls and makes us light up. Witnessing this landscape and then capturing this photo was one of those soul igniting moments for me. Chasing the light in the canyons near Moab, Utah…it felt like the sun danced just for us. Here’s to doing more of what you love and what makes you feel alive. And I hope you create something beautiful today. The world needs the magic you see and make. ❤️

I've received a few messages asking for more of the story of what's been going on in my life/what is bringing me back to photography now. So here is the story of Trek + Bloom:
I started Trek + Bloom in 2014 and at that time was focused on intimate weddings and elopements. I was able to work with many amazing people and had the privilege of shooting in some of the most beautiful places in America (the Blue Ridge Mountains, the beaches of North and South Carolina, Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas, Zion National Park, Arches National Park, Lake Tahoe, Big Bend National Park in TX, Rocky Mountain National Park, Denver, and Chicago were all highlights). I also got to shoot an elopement in Iceland and quite honestly that experience still does not feel real. I was on a plane once a month and often gone for 3 or 4 days at a time for photography and met so many incredible people who became my friends (so many of you are still here and all I can say to that is thank you! I am so humbled.) I also worked as a Physical Therapist Tues-Thurs at a hospital. Looking back on that time in my life, I can confidently say I was "living the dream". At least my dream at the time. It was incredible. December 2017: I found out I was pregnant and almost immediately felt my heart stepping away from photography. I've spent the last 5 years having 2 babies, watching them grow, watching myself transform into a mom, and fully embracing the joy that comes with motherhood and 2 young kiddos in a home. I've enjoyed weekends spent as a family with my husband and our girls and am so grateful for every moment together. We've moved 3 times in the last 5 years but are now feeling pretty settled in TN. We hope to stay here a good long while. Daycare waitlist here are loooooong. So I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay home with our girls. Photography has been on my mind for the last couple of years but the timing hasn't felt right until recently. Now I'm feeling that passion seep back into my heart and I am so excited for what's to come! I'm focusing on families and couples this round because I feel drawn to document and showcase more of the "every day" beauty of this life.
