Been hanging out in West Tennessee and let me tell you, IT'S HOT! Don't believe me, the eagles are panting to stay cool.

That's right, eagles do not have sweat glands, they rely on open-mouth breathing and rapid throat movements—similar to a dog—to release excess heat through evaporation.

Julie and I were sitting on the front porch enjoying a late afternoon chat when she pointed at the sky and yelled, "EAGLE!" I was like, "No- it's just a buzzard... WAIT!" Ran into the house and grabbed the camera and pointed up. Low and behold, eagle!

Not my best photo as the sun was pretty harsh, but to know they are around fills me with hope that one day one might make a nest in a tall tree on the property.

That's if CDE doesn't cut them all down...
