😂 Sometimes the smile is there… it’s just a little more enthusiastic than expected.

One of my favorite things about photographing dogs is that they bring absolutely ZERO concern for how the picture is “supposed” to look. And somehow, those are usually the photos that end up being the best.

Karma from Kathys Pampered Paws clearly understood the assignment. Sort of. 😆🐾

One of my favorite parts of the entire portrait experience is delivering the finished artwork. 🤍

Seeing her hold this portrait, something created to celebrate exactly who she is during this season, is the best reminder that these photographs are meant to be more than files tucked away on a phone or hard drive.

Senior year is fleeting. Your senior’s artwork doesn’t have to be.

The backdrop almost took me out! 🤣

But apparently, this is what “balancing my expenses” looks like.

Memory cards, lenses, backdrops, tripods and beauty dishes… totally balanced. 😉 Completely reasonable. No notes.

Friends! I have the opportunity to be showcased in a National Art Gallery Show this September! !! SO, I'm looking for 4-5 kiddos to photograph, preferably 7-13 years or a sassy kiddo of any age, I’m always up for a challenge.

Music City Crits, (mostly) after dark.

During the final race on the 18th, I had a little fun playing with the light once the sun went down and the streetlights became the only illumination.

Tomorrow night is the final event of the season, and I’m looking forward to one more fun night of racing!

Spent the last week at Summer Camp in St. Louis, learning from some of the best of the best. I love this community and am so grateful for the relationships I continue to build along the way.

What a beautiful day celebrating the Grand Opening of Kathy's Pampered Paws! 🐾

There were pup cups, cookies, water play and plenty of happy dogs exploring their beautiful new space. A few even found the angel wings in front of the murals painted by the incredible Drafts by Olasubomi who also created the adorable mural wrapping around the top of the building.

After their previous building was destroyed in the December 2023 tornado, it was especially meaningful to see the owners, staff and pups finally “home” again. Thankfully, no animals or people were harmed that day and now they have a wonderful new space where dogs can play, be pampered and feel right at home.

I am so happy for the entire Kathy’s Pampered Paws family and excited for everything ahead! Congratulations on this beautiful new chapter. 🐶❤️

I’m a photographer… but I’m also all these other things.

A mom.
A baby whisperer.
A dog mom.
A nature lover.
A cycling fan because my kids pulled me into it.
A fall color chaser.
A sauna-loving, fresh-air-needing, camera-carrying human.

And honestly, I think that matters.

Because photography isn’t just about knowing how to use a camera. It’s about seeing people. Connecting with them. Helping them feel comfortable enough to be themselves in front of the lens.

So here’s a little peek at the person behind the camera.

This week’s camera roll said: no theme, just vibes.

Bikes, flowers, bike races, 4th of July, someone getting their car pushed out of an intersection, and photographing 70+ dogs in one day!

Some weeks are polished.
Some weeks are productive.
And some weeks are just… this.

Grateful for the chaos. 💛
