I see you mama
I see you giving up your body beyond nine months to continue to provide nourishment for your baby. I see you being touched out and not getting a break because your baby won’t take a bottle. I see you nursing your baby to sleep and wondering when it is you’ll be able to do the same. I see you struggling through pain, pumping, cracked ni***es, mastitis, clogged ducts, tongue ties, oversupply and no sleep. I see you doing all this as single moms, working moms, active duty moms and through your spouses deployments. I see you and I celebrate you. Happy breastfeeding week!
This post is not meant to disrespect moms who don’t breastfeed because we all have our own choices! And as long as your baby is fed that’s what matters. This is to acknowledge those that do and validate the struggles that go along with breastfeeding. Ive had my fair share of struggles especially with my first being born at 31 weeks. I was determined and I went on to donate my milk to four other babies to help them thrive. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth it❤️
