The most important thing about your session isn't…
the perfect poses.
a whole new outfit for every family member.
not even the “just right” timing.

It’s you guys. JUST you guys.

In 5-10 years, the outfits will look dated.
The "poses" will be lame (remember when every graduating senior was walking on train tracks?)
And you'll have forgotten how busy you were.

But you'll still be just as in love with your family. Your team. Your favorite people.

Making space in our busy life to CELEBRATE that busy life is half the battle for my families.

Introducing a new baby to older siblings is always a roll of the dice. 🎲

Will they kiss them?
Ignore them?
Try to share their goldfish with them?

When I show up with my camera, I'm not going over all the poses and setups I need to get. I'm coming up with ways to show the beginning of their story together.

The photos that, in a few years, make you think, "Oh my gosh! They still hold hands like that!"

Is there anything better than seeing your partner suddenly turn into a total softie?

You think you know him, and then you see him holding a teeny baby bundle with gentle hands, and it’s like meeting a whole new version of him.

Don't get me wrong, the baby is IMPORTANT.

But I’m not about here to miss the moment you two stopped being just a couple and started being a parenting team. 🤍

I know all the schools have been closed so far this week but we've still been doing about a half day of school here so we don't lose ALL the snow days..

But what I really want to do is just be lazy and cozy!! What are your favorite cozy activities?

I do not recommend leaving the country for a relaxing vacation and then coming back to finish up your busiest season of the year.... but if you're going to do it, it sure helps to love what you do and who do it for! 🤍

Most of the time, that's families.

But sometimes it's small businesses!
co had to reschedule her branding session with the wild weather but, as it usually happens, the push was worth it! She's pivoting her business and it's big enough to need new photos to show that to her audience and prospective clients.

Yesterday, I had flashbacks of when we were stationed in the CA desert and I would have to reschedule for high winds! 🌬

Luckily it died down enough to have the most joyous session in the fall color. I'm not sure how much longer the leaves will last!
