w as a photographer. I want to be there for the most genuine moments and tell a story that is truly you. Whether it’s your family staying home and making cookies together. Or you and your loved one spending a day at the fair. Or even your wedding day captured as it truly happened. I’m here to hang out and unobtrusively document those real life moments. I think every photographer goes through a time early in their career finding their voice. What point of view do they have to offer? I’ve taken many friends and family out for “photo shoots” as a way for me to practice. But my favorite work always came back to the unplanned moments when I brought my camera along to friends’ birthday parties and captured children’s expression of pure joy. Or the time I visited my niece in the NICU and got to capture the proud papa moment as the nurse handed him his beautiful daughter and he got to show her off. I live for capturing the fitful tears of the 1 year old who didn’t want to get his face cleaned, or the silhouette of a young woman talking with her hands or the expression of a guest caught in the act of stealing the first piece of wedding cake. I pay attention to the little things and the moments that can’t be recreated through a pose. I feel others can appreciate this artform of capturing a “day in the life” moments as well and I look forward to meeting you and discussing what your “day” will look like.

It's been a minute since I've had a chance to do a Senior Session. But I couldn't have asked for a more amazing kid to capture! Cromwell is just an incredibly talented, thoughtful young man. So much fun to hang out with him and his family as we did the shoot. Did I mention he's coming out with a country album? Just joking! But with how he rocked the hat, he totally should. I am now requesting more hat wearing clients, please.

I love stories. I love chaos. I love families. But what makes my heart happiest is when a family embraces all these things with me. They get to have this gift of all their precious, messy, goofy, emotional, beautiful family memories documented for a lifetime.

One of my favorite documentary family sessions was with the beautiful Booth Family who embraced this mom photographer having a camera around them all day. This day, they did nothing fancy, no big events or special outfits, just a regular day getting kids up, going to the park, making lunch, etc. It's real life. A bit messy. But clearly every frame is overflowing with love.
