Happy, happy birthday to you, Dylan Michael. 18 years ago, I was laying in the hospital bed holding you.
And in what sometimes feels like the blink of an eye- a man now stands next to me. Tomorrow you graduate and a new chapter begins.
Dear Dylan... May you always love and appreciate the wide open spaces of a big beautiful sky and a country cruise down an old gravel road in your pickup, listening to your favorite tunes. Just promise to remember, momma loves to go on those sunset cruises sometimes too- you can even choose the playlist.
All my love, Mom

One session, multiple different looks- a collage of my faves.
Vintage yet classic was the overall tone of this photoshoot with Noah. And I think that we found a few great new spots.

Riding off into the captivating SoDak sunset...

Cyclones for the win! I really love this dark and edgy look for sports portraits. And this shot is one of my newest faves!
Noah and I had to reschedule the basketball portion of our session a couple of times, but I'm pretty sure that he will agree - it was definitely worth the wait.
This really needs to be printed on metal- it would look so awesome.

Time for a post.
This handsome guy is my nephew, Evan.
We didn't take very many of the 3 cousins by themselves, last summer. But the few that I did get are great!

I took a few shots of Dylan by himself when we had the cousin photo shoot back in Indiana. I really love this one...even if it's a serious face. When he is in front of my camera nowadays- it's either this face or a smirk...and occasionally he even includes hand gestures. 😉 It should be called "Child of a photographer" syndrome. He doesn't pose quite like he used to when he was younger...or so he thinks. We will be going out in the next few weeks to some of our favorite local spots to shoot his session and trying out a couple of unique locations too. I Love this kid so very much...even when he frustrates the hell out of me and won't give me a nice smile. Fingers crossed I'll get some laughs and smirks next time. ❤

Another one of my fave 3 Seniors...Evan, Audrey & Dylan

I LOVE this location- this is a pull back of the same spot as the photo I posted yesterday. Columbus family & friends may recognize it as the bench tunnel at Mill Race Park. It was the perfect spot to create the mood that we were going for with these photos. It had amazing light and the symbolism of the path with the light at the end of the tunnel- was everything that I envisioned.

I'm not sure how time has gone by so fast. I remember these 3 kids from the very first day of each of their lives. I have hundreds of photos (ok probably thousands) of each of them. I've watched them grow from newborns, into adorable kids and now into amazing young adults. And it feels sometimes, like it all happened in the blink of an eye- or my lens.
How can they be Seniors? How do I have a high school Senior?!? Wow. Just wow. I am so very Proud of all of them.

Evan, Audrey & Dylan- Class of 2022
Cousins are usually the first friends that we have as children. They are the best of both worlds- because they are family & friends at the same time.

Congrats to all of the 2021 grads!
I wish you all the best in your future endeavors! My hope for you-
May you always remember to see the beauty in the ordinary, and never take this life for granted. May you reflect back on what's behind you, but only when you really have to, and may you always remain on your own path. And may you always remember the road back home.
This photo was taken out of the passenger window (of the side mirror) last summer as Dylan and I took a sunset cruise in his pickup. Seems like just a few months ago. And One year from now, he will be graduating. Time goes so fast.
It really is true...objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear. Love and light

Frozen bubbles ...if it wasn't so damn cold out- I could play with these for hours. I'm sure everyone driving by the house thought I was a lunatic- frantically waving the bubble wand over the top of my car ;)

Follow your heart, kid, and you'll never go wrong."
