Ask a kid what happens first at school and they wonโt say the bell. Theyโll talk about the bus ride.
Before a teacher takes attendance, before the cafeteria opens, before anyone has looked at a lesson plan, someone has already pulled up to a stop in the dark, opened a door, and said good morning by name.
That person notices when a kid climbs on quiet. That person notices when a kid climbs on cold. For a lot of children, the ride to school might be the calmest twenty minutes of their day so far, and itโs calm because of who is behind the wheel.
Clarendon CISD is looking for people willing to be that. You donโt need a CDL yet โ weโll pay for the training and walk you through it. Routes run mornings and afternoons, which leaves your midday to yourself, and most drivers make between $800 and $1,000 a month for that drive time. Itโs part-time work with full-time meaning, and itโs one of the few jobs in this town where youโll know YOU were the reason a kidโs day started right.
Call the Transportation Office if you want to talk about it.
