I drove past this location on the way to a session and the wheels in my mind started turning. Later that night I google searched it and started chatting with some photographer friends. This colorful session shootout idea was born and Haley McLain Photography and her family were SO perfect for my vision 💙💜🧡💛💚

I have had *the* sweetest boys in front of my camera lately 🥹 Maybe it's because I have my baby boy sitting on my lap right now, but goodness, there's just something about those boys.. they turn their mommas into puddles. No posing necessary when you tell her to love on him for the camera 🫶

At the last minute we moved this session up an hour and managed to beat a big ole summer thunderstorm. My phone was giving me "rain is approaching your current location" alerts every 15 minutes 😅
It doesn't always work in our favor to push through and go on and shoot when there's weather coming in but it definitely did that night 🤎
Also, before this session started, I dropped a fence post in a mud puddle and accidentally splashed BOTH of them with muddy water. Not a little...Like, a lot of it. They were completely cool and nice about it and I felt sooooo bad 😅

That first image. Are you kidding me?!
They pushed the little man's bedtime for that beautiful summer lighting (he was sooo happy), picked flattering outfits, never once complained about the triple digit heat index, and just totally let go of expectations and let their sweet boy run the session.
