Quick and effective one light set up with the help of 🙌. The couple came out to an already set up Night Shot and were back on the dance floor 2 minutes later.

Since I got featured on this past week for “Lake Photography 101” I thought I’d share the TWO photos they choose to feature in their article.

Both were taken at very local Lakes in SoCal and both were for engagement sessions.

The first silhouette photo, may be one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken and definitely a Top-3 sunset I’ve ever seen. I’m always looking for an excuse to share this one ;)

The second photo is dear to me as well, as this is my cousin Kyle and his wife Danylle. Who are now married and have a beautiful family.

I disappeared for a while.
but, the silence had a purpose.

The last couple of years cracked me open in ways I never saw coming or prepared for—a painful divorce, three moves, a heartache that stripped me to my core… but also, somehow, finding love again.

I needed time.
To heal.
To feel.
To get quiet and focus on me.

So I stepped back from social media, not because I was giving up… but because I was rebuilding.

Now that I’ve come out the other side, I’m ready to share what I did accomplish through all the chaos—and what’s next.

Joshua Tree is always on our suggested list of locations for engagement sessions but, only gets picked only so often.

I love this place! Located just outside Palm Springs in Southern California it’s known by its rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes.

Which really spoke to Cody + Britney as we discussed locations, they both love the desert and I’m so happy they agreed to go out there.
