When one of my best friends, Alaina, reached out about doing a generational session with all the girls in her family, I immediately loved the idea. And after photographing it, I HIGHLY suggest doing this 🧡

Photos are one of those things we’re always saying, “We should do that!” about. We should get everyone together. We should take the picture. We should do it while Grandma is here, while the kids are this age, while everyone can make it. And then somehow another year goes by.

Just do it.

It doesn’t have to be for a special occasion. Getting all of these women together, laughing, loving on each other, and documenting this season of their family was reason enough.

Was it approximately 900 degrees outside? Absolutely. 😂 But we laughed our way through the sweating, and I’m so glad we did.

These are the photos that only become more important with time.

It’s officially the “BER” months, and you KNOW what that means. My absolute favorite time of year is finally here!

Fall Mini Sessions are officially open to the public! Fall always seems to fly by way too fast, and these are some of my favorite sessions every single year. Cozy sweaters, changing leaves, snuggly kiddos, and that gorgeous fall light...give me all of it!

As always, these spots are limited, and fall is already a busy one around here, so don’t wait too long to grab yours!

I can’t wait to see so many of my favorite families and hopefully some new ones this fall!

Who’s been around here since Elliot was born? Because somehow my tiny baby starts PRESCHOOL today 🥹 Bonus points, who has been around since Johanna was little? She starts COLLEGE today! My poor mama heart 🤯

For the last four years, I’ve been lucky enough to have a work schedule that allowed me to stay home with him a few days every week. Self employment is hard. Like, really hard sometimes. But this is one of those days where I’m reminded of what it’s given me, too.

I never expected to have that kind of time with my last baby. And the only reason I was able to build my schedule that way was because of all of you. The families who booked sessions, came back year after year, told your friends about me, and continued trusting me with your memories while I was over here trying to balance being a business owner and being a mom.

Today feels like the end of a really special little chapter of my life. But, in true bittersweet motherhood fashion, it also means the beginning of something new over here at Amanda Steffke Photography! With Elliot now in school five days a week, my weekday studio schedule is opening up quite a bit. I’ll have more daytime availability for newborns, milestones, cake smashes, headshots and all of the sessions I’ve spent the last several years carefully squeezing into my limited studio days.

I’m definitely having some feelings about my baby going to preschool today, but I’m also really excited to see what having five full workdays again looks like for this little business of mine.

So thank you. Truly. You gave me something over these last four years that I’ll always be incredibly grateful for 🧡

Macy | Class of 2027 | Beal City HS

I had such a great time with Macy and her mom during our session last week. I think the last time I took Macy's pictures, she was just a tiny little thing, and now it's senior year. Time flies! Have the best year, Macy! 🎓

I've been working with the Michigan Spine & Pain team for a couple of years now, and I always love my time spent with them. Whether it's at my studio or on-site in their office, they all have such a great and caring attitude!

David | Class of 2027 | Chippewa Hills HS

If those dark clouds don’t give it away, Mother Nature had other plans for David’s senior session. The rain that was supposedly holding off until 11pm decided to show up about halfway through instead.

Thankfully, we made it through all of his “sportraits” first, including football and track, and got SO many great shots before the rain took over!

So this one is officially **to be continued...** We’ll meet back up for round two soon, hopefully with a little less rain and a much more accurate forecast. 😂

Apparently, my idea of a wild Friday night is sitting at my computer knocking out some editing. 😂

But first...TEDDY. His Toy Story cake smash was SO adorable, and those cheeks and blue eyes?! I cannot handle them. 🤠💙

Things have been a little wild over here lately. I’ve pretty much been shooting nonstop every night, while also working on some really huge projects with our other business. I’m definitely not ready for school to start because summer went WAY too fast, but I am ready to have a little routine back in our lives so I can finally feel like I’m catching up!

As always, I appreciate my clients SO much for giving me a little extra grace when life is just extra life-ing.

Lots more sneak peeks coming, lots of galleries going out, and for tonight...back to editing I go!
