Spring is here, y’all! 🌸

The sun is finally sticking around longer, the trees are starting to blush green, and somewhere, someone is popping the first little dandelions of the season.

It’s the perfect reminder that weddings, engagement sessions, and life in general are all about growth, fresh starts, and tiny beautiful moments that make your heart smile.

Honestly, I don’t know what’s better — the soft spring light for photos, or the way couples’ excitement feels just a little extra in the warmer breeze.

Some wedding days just feel so them from start to finish.

This one started with a beautiful Catholic ceremony — the kind where you can feel the weight of tradition and family in the room. The quiet moments, the familiar prayers, generations sitting in the pews together.

And then afterward? They hopped into a family member’s old Ford like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Which honestly made it even better.

There were cultural traditions woven throughout the day, lots of laughter with family, and so many little details that clearly meant something to them.

Nothing felt overdone. Nothing felt like it was there just because it was “supposed to be.”

It was thoughtful, personal, and full of the people who matter most.

The kind of wedding that reminds you the best days aren’t about perfection — they’re about celebrating your story in a way that actually feels like you. 🤍

A little throwback to one of my favorite Upper Peninsula adventures — when my besties got engaged in Grand Marais, Michigan. 🤍

If you’ve never been up there, it’s one of those places that feels completely different from the rest of the state. Big Lake Superior views, quiet forests, and tiny harbor towns where everything slows down a little.

UP engagement sessions always feel a little more adventurous too. You might be walking along rocky shorelines, chasing sunset over Lake Superior, or wandering through pine forests with the wind coming off the lake.

And honestly? That’s exactly what makes them so fun.

If you’re dreaming about engagement photos in the Upper Peninsula, here are a few ways to make the experience really pop:

• Lean into the adventure — hike, explore, climb the rocks, wander the shoreline
• Plan around sunset — the light over Lake Superior is unreal

Yesterday’s is one of those weddings that feels extra special to share.

I’ve known Carter and Julianna since high school, and even back then it was obvious they were something good. The kind of couple that just fit. So when they got engaged, it honestly felt like the most natural next chapter of their story—and when they reached out about photographing their wedding, I was so excited.

Their day ended up being every bit as beautiful and meaningful as the two of them are.

Since I’m so close to welcoming our baby, my amazing associate Sam stepped in to photograph the day for me—and she absolutely killlled it! These images just ooze Carter and Julianna. The joy, the warmth, the way their people showed up to celebrate them… it’s all there.

Editing these honestly had me a little emotional. Getting to witness people you’ve seen grow together from a young age step into a new chapter like this is just so special.

Carter and Jules, I could not be happier for you two. What a beautiful beginning. 🤍✨

Here's an oldie but a goodie!

The forecast said rain, but we decided to stick it out and wow was it worth it!

We sat at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, watched the clouds roll in, and decided to lean into it.

The wind was wild, the sand was everywhere, and the thunder and lightening came closer and closer, a subtle threat. But honestly? It made the whole evening feel even more like an adventure.

We wandered across the dunes, climbed to the highest ridges, and watched Lake Michigan fade into the mist.

Sometimes the best sessions happen when things don’t go exactly according to plan — when couples are willing to embrace the moment instead of waiting for perfect conditions.

And the truth is, those slightly wild, unpredictable evenings usually end up being the ones you remember most.

Honestly? Most couples feel that way.

Very few people show up to a session knowing exactly what to do with their hands or how to pose naturally. That’s completely normal.

My approach is less about posing and more about creating little moments for you to interact.

Walking together.
Talking about how you met.
Sharing a quiet second.

Instead of focusing on the camera, you end up focusing on each other.

And that’s when the photos start to feel effortless.

You don’t have to be “good at photos.”
You just have to show up as yourselves.

My last wedding of the season… and honestly, I couldn’t have imagined a more meaningful way to end the year. ✨

I had the absolute honor of standing in the wedding of two of my best friends, Matt and Libby — and somehow also getting to capture pieces of their day. Celebrating them in their hometown, in the place where their whole story lives, felt so tender and full-circle.

The whole day was just… joy. Cozy November light, happy tears, their families loving on them, and that feeling of being wrapped up in a moment you know you’ll remember forever. There’s something extra magical about photographing people you love while also getting to stand beside them as they start this new chapter.

Matt and Libby, watching you two promise forever was everything. Thank you for trusting me, for including me, and for letting me be part of something so deeply personal. What an unreal, heart-full way to close out the season. 🤍
