I love when clients incorporate their occupation into their portraits.

Tammy is a nurse at the VA Clinic. She’s had different careers along the way. Her story is a reminder that you’re not limited to one path. It’s never too late to step into something new.

So these portraits celebrate where she is today, and I love that.

NIKKI | 40 OVER 40
We had such an incredible time celebrating Nikki! She had seen several of her friends doing this project with us. Being a new empty nester, she decided to join in on the fun!

Something I don’t always do is show a full picture of what a 40 Over 40 session can look like. I typically share one or two outfits at a time. So I decided to share at least one photo from each of Nikki’s outfits.

The experience includes a styling and concept consultation, hair and makeup styling, fully guided photoshoot, beautiful photos and an exhibit/magazine feature.

This project allows you the chance to step away from your usual routine for a bit and do something a little different.

For most of our clients, the thought of a photoshoot is completely out of their comfort zone. That’s okay. You’re not a professional model and I don’t expect you to be. We’ll guide you through the entire process.

KERRI | 40 OVER 40
One of my favorite parts of this project is getting to know each client and figuring out how to translate that into photos.

We decided to incorporate Kerri’s Dallas Stars jersey into her session. It was fun to hear about her love for hockey games. I’ve been wanting to go to a game myself, so I had questions. Lol

We really played with the different layers of her personality during the session. These are just two of the outfits we chose which show two different sides of Kerri. No person is just one thing, and your photos shouldn’t be either.

Thanks Kerri for spending the day with us to create these portraits. We had a blast!

I was speaking with a new client the other day and she said something to the effect of “I’m not sure why I’m doing this. I’m not photogenic and I usually hate having my picture taken”

She continued to name off concerns I’ve heard from clients over and over throughout the years.

The thing is… that’s exactly who this project is for. The everyday woman who spends most of her time pouring into other people. The woman who has avoided the camera for years. The woman who deserves the opportunity to celebrate herself and tell her story.

The 40 Over 40 Project exists to give you a reason to get in front of the camera and for it to be FUN. To create a legacy you’re proud of. Photos you would want hanging in your home and passed down for generations.

BUERKLE FAMILY 2026
Let’s talk family portraits. They’re something everyone needs, but you might not know where to start or what to do. No worries!

Here’s how this family session played out. We started with a styling and concept consultation where we worked through outfit selection and made a plan for the session.

On shoot day, Roz took care of hair and makeup for Mary Jane, along with a little age appropriate glam for Sophie.

Once Nathan and Angelo joined us, we created a variety of portraits in the studio before heading outdoors for a completely different look. The kids were adorable and did so good! I’ve loved getting to know this sweet family more.

After the session, we got together for their reveal, went through the images, and chose the portraits and finished artwork they wanted to enjoy in their home.

Our clients love our experience because they don’t have to figure everything out on their own. From what to wear to what to do with your photos afterwards, we’re here to help you make those decisions! 😊

We’re photographing 40 women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond for vol. 2 of this incredible project.

The 40 Over 40 experience includes a styling & concept consultation, hair and makeup styling, fully guided photoshoot, beautiful photos, and a magazine/exhibit feature.

We had so much fun with Sandi in the studio. She definitely deserved a day that was all about her (and you do too!).
