I debated posting this because I know not everyone will agree.
But after years in this industry, I’ve watched it change in ways that break my heart.
Somewhere along the way, creating memories became creating content. Community became competition. Algorithms became more important than authentic connection.
I’ve seen incredibly talented creatives leave because the pressure became too much. I’ve watched friendships disappear over rumors. I’ve seen couples’ wishes overlooked in the pursuit of a viral reel or the perfect portfolio image.
And yes... we charge thousands of dollars. Not because most of us got into this for the money, but because running a legitimate creative business is expensive. Behind every session is countless hours of planning, shooting, editing, delivering, paying taxes, insurance, software, equipment, travel, and everything else that keeps a business alive.
None of this means the industry is bad.
There are still some of the most kind, genuine, talented people I’ve ever met doing this work. This isn’t about them.
It’s about remembering why we started.
To tell stories.
�To preserve memories.
�To serve people on the most special days of their lives.
If we can get back to putting our couples/families before our content, supporting one another instead of tearing each other down, and valuing authenticity over perfection, I truly believe this industry can become what so many of us fell in love with in the first place.
